Jonathan Bloomer the chair of SDL Group Holdings (amongst other non-exec director roles), which previously owned mortgage network Stonebridge is one of those named missing on the yacht that went down with tech tycoon Mike Lynch.
Bloomer has been the chairman of Morgan Stanley International since 2018, and in 2023 was also appointed chairman of the Hiscox international insurance group.
He began his career at US accounting firm Arthur Andersen, working there from 1974 to 1994. Bloomer then spent the next ten years at Prudential, an insurance firm based in the UK, eventually becoming group CEO until 2005.
Bloomer and his wife Judy are among those missing after the luxury yacht sank off the coast of Sicily, following a freak storm.
Stonebridge chief executive Rob Clifford says: “This is shocking news and we await in hope for a positive outcome. Meanwhile, we have sent our heartfelt wishes to Jonathan’s family at this anxious and terrible time.”
