Saturday’s Football Bet of the Day sees me head to Iceland, and there is one side who are at home who appeal to me to make the net bulge at least twice.

Þróttur will look to maintain their strong home record on Saturday afternoon as they welcome 9th-placed Vestri to the Eimskipsvöllurinn.
Þróttur recorded back-to-back victories for the first time in the league this season last time out, as they followed up their 2-1 success at home to Grótta by winning by the same scoreline away at 4th-placed Grindavík. Whilst that was Þróttur’s first away win of the season last time out, Ian Jeffs’ men have been far more consistent on home soil, winning each of their previous three by an aggregate score of 8-2.
Vestri became the first side to fall victim to Ægir in the league this season, as they lost 1-2 at home to the bottom side last time out. Whilst that result put a halt to their two-match winning run at home, Davíð Smári Lamude’s visitors remain winless on their travels, collecting two points from a possible 12 (W0-D2-L2).

Þróttur are the fourth-highest scorers in the Icelandic second tier this term, scoring 19 goals across their opening nine matches, with nine (47%) of them coming in front of their supporters. The Reykjavík-based hosts have found the back of the net in all nine of the league contests this campaign – scoring two or more goals in six of their previous eight – and I’m backing them to bag another brace at home to a Vestri defence that’s shipped multiple goals in 6/9 (67%) of their league assignments this season.
