There’s a blockbuster Premier League clash taking place on Sunday afternoon as Newcastle United lock horns with top-four rivals Liverpool. There is a market here that we feel offers great value and we have selected as our bet of the day.

It’s been a decent start for both Newcastle United and Liverpool in the Premier League. The Magpies thrashed Aston Villa 5-1 on the opening weekend at St James’ Park but fell to a narrow 1-0 defeat at Manchester City last time out. Liverpool were held to a draw by Chelsea at Stamford Bridge to start their campaign and then beat Bournemouth 3-1 at Anfield last weekend.

After missing out on Champions League football this year, Liverpool’s biggest priority this year is to ensure they finish back in the top four. Newcastle surprised many by finishing in the Champions League places last term under Eddie Howe and they will fight hard to maintain their status as a top-four side. Therefore, the importance of this fixture cannot be overstated and it doesn’t matter that the season is still in its adolescence

Both sides have goals in abundance within their ranks and many are tipping this clash to be a high-scoring affair. Alexander Isak and Mohamed Salah are both off the mark in the top flight with the former scoring twice already and the latter finding the back of the net once.

Salah provided 19 goals in the Premier League for the Reds last year while Isak scored 10 for Newcastle. The two stars are key players for their clubs and are tipped to play big roles in 2023-24.
