There are a smattering of Scandinavian fixtures to look forward to on Monday with two games in Sweden’s Allsvenskan and one from the Norwegian Eliteserien.

Elfsborg have made a strong start to the season and after 12 rounds of fixtures they sit second, five points behind pacesetters Malmo with a game in hand.

Jimmy Thelin’s men entertain Hammarby on Monday and will be confident of claiming all three points, but they may have to work hard for the win.

Elfsborg have the joint-best defensive record in the league but have been conceding on a regular basis over the last few rounds of Allsvenskan fixtures.

The hosts have secured just two shut-outs in their last seven games and have shipped seven goals in total during that run, while their defence was breached in a 1-1 draw with Djurgarden in their last game at this venue.

Ultimately, Elfsborg are the team in form and are a tough prospect at home so they should be expected to overcome mid-table Hammarby – but the visitors have hit five goals in total across their last five away fixtures and can at least score in defeat.
