The Euro Under-21 Championship has now reached matchday two and it is giving us a great insight into the future stars of the beautiful game.
Some of the world’s best players have been developed in Spain and it is their U21s side who are the focus of our bet on Saturday as they face Croatia in a vital fixture in Bucharest.
Spain can book their place in the Uner-2121 Euro 2023 knockout stages, while Croatia have it all to do after losing 2-0 to Ukraine earlier this week.

Spain’s 3-0 victory over co-hosts Romania has put them in the driving seat in Group B as they try to book their place in the knockout stages of the competition.
They made a real statement earlier in the week thanks to goals from Alex Baena, Juan Miranda and Sergio Gomez, and they are one of the form teams in the tournament.
Santi Denia’s troops are unbeaten in 15 matches in all competitions, a run of two years without defeat.
La Rojita are the 7/2 favourites for the tournament, which is no surprise considering they are the joint-most successful side in U21 European Championships history.
Spain and Italy have won the tournament five times, but Spain’s semi-final exit in 2021 was considered a failure and their young squad will be determined to right that wrong.
They have not struggled for goals, scoring two or more in 13 of their previous 15, although the two matches they failed to achieve that feat took place this year. They were unable to beat France or Mexico, but they should have too much quality for Croatia.
Croatia may have beaten England 2-1 in March, but their plans for the tournament are hanging by a thread after they lost to Ukraine, who still managed to win even without Chelsea star Mykhaylo Mudryk.
Dragan Skocic’s young side have now failed to score in two of their previous three and they are facing arguably the best team in the competition.
Croatia have never won or reached the final of the competition, so the occasion could also get to them, and there appears to be too much pressure on their shoulders.
Had they picked up a positive result against Ukraine, Skocic’s team would not have had to get something out of Saturday’s meeting, but that is the beauty of tournament football.
If Croatia leave themselves open at the back, Spain have the quality to punish them with ease, and they should get the job done without much hassle in Bucharest.
