After making it six winners on the bounce in Prague on Thursday, Friday’s Football Bet of the Day sees me focus on the opening match in Matchday 26 in Serie A.

Bologna will look to climb up into 4th position in the Serie A table as they welcome relegation-threatened Hellas Verona to the Stadio Renato Dall’Ara tomorrow evening, and I’ve come up with a bet builder where I’ve got the hosts onside, as well as adding in cards.
Many thought the wheels were coming off the bus for Bologna, as they went on a four-much winless run at the turn of the year, but Thiago Motta’s men have since made it four wins from four in February, to leave them in 5th position, behind 4th-placed Atalanta only on goal difference – albeit playing a game more. The key to Bologna’s success this campaign is due to their incredible home form, with no side in the Italian top flight having collected more points than the 32 The Rossoblù have in front of their supporters.
Marco Baroni’s visitors began the season with back-to-back victories, but since then have won just two of their next 23 (W2-D8-L13) to leave them outside the relegation zone only on goal difference. However, three of those draws have come across their last four matches, the most recent of which saw the 1984/85 Scudetto winners pegged back twice in a four-goal stalemate at home to Juventus. The Gialloblu played out a goalless draw at Monza on their last road trip, but that was just their third point from their previous 12 road trips.

After an opening day defeat at home to Milan, The Rossoblú have gone on to win 10 and draw two of their 12 Serie A matches in front of their supporters (W10-D2-L0) – only dropping points in that run in a 0-0 draw at home to last season’s Scudetto winners Napoli back at the end of September, and a 1-1 stalemate against mid-table Genoa – and I’m backing them to collect another three points at home to a Verona side that is winless in each of their previous 12 road trips (W0-D3-L9), losing 6/6 (100%) away at teams positioned in 9th and above.
To nudge up the price, I’m happy to back the hosts to pick up a card and for the visitors to earn two or more. Bologna have been shown a card in each of their opening 25 (100%) Serie A contests this term but have also drawn two or more cards from 24/25 (96%) of their Serie A opponents, whilst Hellas Verona have been issued with multiple cards in all 20/25 (80%) of their Serie A encounters this season.
