England vs Finland Prediction: Gordon can show what he is capable of
England take on Finland on Tuesday (19:45, ITV) for their second Uefa Nations League fixture. The Three Lions defeated the Republic of Ireland in Dublin on Saturday, with former Irish internationals Declan Rice and Jack Grealish the scorers in the 2-0 victory.
Finland were defeated 3-0 by Greece on their last outing, so they won’t be looking forward to facing the hosts’ stacked attacking options. Read on for my England vs Finland prediction, including match odds and team news.

Team News
Lee Carsley’s England players came through unscathed in Dublin at the weekend and captain Harry Kane made his 99th appearance for the Three Lions, so he will be eager to become 10th player to become a centurion.
The forward is likely to be joined by the same attacking players who impressed against Ireland in Grealish, Bukayo Saka and Anthony Gordon. Morgan Gibbs-White and Angel Gomes, two players Carsley worked with at Under-21s level, were handed their senior debuts from the bench last time out, and both Tino Livramento and Noni Madueke will be pushing for their opportunity on Tuesday.
Conor Gallagher, John Stones and Eberechi Eze will be eager for more game time against Finland, with Gallagher the only one to have not been given a run out so far.
Finland were handed a double blow against Greece. Midfielder Kaan Karinen picked up an injury before the match, and later Rasmus Schuller was taken off before half-time in the 3-0 defeat. Both have been ruled out for the trip to Wembley.
Urho Nissila was Schuller’s deputy last time out, and he should get the nod to start from the get-go on Tuesday night. Veteran and record goalscorer Teemu Pukki could be in contention to feature to give his side some much-needed firepower.
England to win to nil @ 8/13
The Three Lions gave an exciting first-half performance in Carsley’s opening match, with many describing it as one with the handbrake taken off, allowing the array of talent to largely go with their instincts and play with freedom.
It was a good start to his spell as interim boss, and now he will look ahead to his first home game in charge, against a team that will be low on confidence after losing 3-0 to Greece. Having mentioned earlier, Finland will be dreading facing this England squad because they have so much quality in depth, and they will be a much more challenging encounter than their previous opponents.
With the likes of Kane, Grealish, Saka and Gordon, the Three Lions have many goalscoring options to choose from and that is just from the probable starting XI, there’s much more when you factor in the bench players including Eze, Jarrod Bowen, Gibbs-White and Madueke.
I think this can end up being a routine exercise for Carsley’s men and I think they could be in for more goals than they experienced on Saturday. I believe they will also limit Finland to half chances if anything, so I think backing the Three Lions to win to nil is a sensible selection here.
Anthony Gordon anytime goalscorer @ 13/8
Gordon recently opened up about his disappointment at not featuring that much for England at the Euros, but after working with him closely, Carsley knows his value. He started against Ireland and he is likely to make the XI again on Tuesday.
The Newcastle United winger is direct and he loves to take his man on, but he also has a habit of forcing his way inside to get a shot off or to create space for his overlapping full-back.
He will be relishing facing a defence that is going to be low on confidence, and I think he can exploit that. I fancy England to rack up a few goals in this game, and while record scorer Kane is the obvious choice, I fancy Gordon’s chances to get in on the action.
