England to win the game outright are a bit skinny for my liking, so I’m backing Half/full time result – England/England.
Lee Carsley’s side laid down a marker with an opening 2-0 win over the Czech Republic on Thursday, and another victory here would guarantee a place in the knockout stages for the Young Lions, with a game to spare.
Both of England’s goals against the Czech Republic came in the second half on Thursday, so I’m anticipating a quick start from Carsley’s men, especially given the opportunity to wrap up qualification to the knockout phase with a game to spare, which would allow Carsley to rotate and rest players.
Over 2.5 goals
Next, I’m backing over 2.5 total goals in the match.
Apart from England’s two most recent matches against the Czech Republic and Japan, over 2.5 goals have been scored in the nine matches preceding them.
Goals tend to be few and far between in Israel’s contests, with goalless stalemates occurring in two of their last five encounters. However, I think England’s attacking quality could see them rack up the goals.
Jacob Ramsey to score anytime
The Aston Villa man opened his account for the tournament against the Czech Republic, and he finished his domestic campaign in fine form, bagging in two of his last three games of the season.
In addition, the midfielder scored two goals and recorded two assists in qualifying for the tournament, suggesting he has license to get forward under Lee Carsley’s tutelage.
Ramsey looks set to start in one of those advanced midfield roles on Sunday, so I fancy him to make it two goals in as many games for the tournament.
