- Patrick Mahomes and Jalen Hurts are the co-favorites to win the 2023 NFL MVP award
- Monday Night Football on ESPN kicks off from Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, MO at 8:15 pm ET
After having to endure both New York teams and the Bears in primetime far too often this season, Monday Night Football offers fans a true treat. Chiefs vs. Eagles, a Super Bowl rematch between the AFC and NFC’s top seeds featuring Patrick Mahomes and Jalen Hurts, the co-favorites for NFL MVP, and the Kelce brothers. One of who happens to be dating the most famous woman on planet earth.
Before we check the odds and make our picks on the game of the year, here’s where you can find the best Super Bowl betting tips and the top betting sites for NFL football in 2023.

Both teams coming off a bye
With too many storylines to count, it’s easy to overlook the fact that Andy Reid is 21-3 coming off a bye in his career. Hopefully, Big Red can find some answers for a weapons-deprived Chiefs offense that has looked pedestrian all year. However, when Travis Kelce is off canoodling in Argentina with Taylor Swift, it’s fair to wonder how much work is actually put in over a bye week.
Jalen Hurts enjoyed an extra week to heal up after looking hobbled in Philadelphia’s 28-23 week 9 victory over the Cowboys. While his tight end Dallas Goedert will miss the contest with a broken arm, Hurts still has A.J. Brown and Devonta Smith at his disposal. Brown ranks second in the NFL with 1,005 receiving yards and 6 TDs.

Mahomes vs Hurts
Patrick Mahomes won his second-career Super Bowl MVP after passing for 182 yards and three TDs in KC’s 38-35 victory over the Eagles in February. But, aside from a costly fumble that led to a scoop and score by the Chiefs, Hurts’ performance was equally impressive. The 25-year-old set a new Super Bowl record with 70 yards on the ground and tied a record with three rushing scores.
While Hurts trails Mahomes in passing yards (2,442 vs 2,347) and passing TDs (17 vs 15) heading into Monday night, he has a better yards per attempt (7.7 vs 7.3) with seven rushing scores to Mahomes’ none.
Kansas City vs Philadelphia
Kansas City is a 2.5-point favorite at Arrowhead Stadium on Monday night. A 46-point over/under is also relatively low considering these two clubs put up 73 in the third-highest scoring Super Bowl in history. But… Steve Spagnuolo’s defense has given up the second-fewest points per game (15.9) and ranks No. 4 in total yards allowed (288.2) and No. 5 in passing yards allowed (176.0)
While Philly’s D is middling in those categories, they have permitted the fewest rushing yards per week (66.3). Nick Sirianni’s offense is also performing at a much higher level, averaging 28 points per game (3rd in the NFL) versus KC’s 23.1 (13th). The Eagles’ ground attack (129.7 rushing yards per week) has been strong and both passing games rank top ten.

Best Bet
Neither Kansas City nor Philadelphia have looked like their dominant selves throughout much of the season, yet they’re a combined 15-3 heading into week 11. Andy Reid rarely stumbles off a bye, but his offensive problems seem too big to fix and even a dominant defense will be hard pressed to shutdown Jalen Hurts and A.J. Brown.
We like the Eagles (+105) to avenge their Super Bowl loss, with the UNDER 46, in a convincing victory on Monday Night Football.
