Dota 2 updates Turbo mode, fixes gameplay bugs

Valve has released their latest gameplay update for Dota 2, focusing on improving Turbo as well as fixing multiple bugs in the game, most of them related to new features added in patch 7.33.

With Division II of the DPC going on and the Bali Major coming up in three weeks, Valve is aiming to get the game in the most stable state possible to ensure teams and players have the best time possible.

When Valve introduced Turbo mode, it was meant to give players with limited time the ability to speedrun a game of Dota 2. Death timers are reduced, creeps grant more gold, items are delivered instantly, towers are easier to bring down, and so on.

Over time, as new features were introduced to the game, they had to be adapted to the accelerated game pace and that occasionally took time to perfect. The latest update aims to adjust the new features introduced in patch 7.33 to Turbo.

Wisdom runes now provide double experience when picked up, Lotus Pools spawn their flowers every 90 seconds, instead of three minutes. Aghanim’s Shards and Infused Raindrops can now be purchased two minutes earlier than previous patches.

All these changes aim to provide a shorter game for players, with more rewarding resources on the map and earlier power spikes from items. But there’s more to the patch than just an update to the game’s fastest mode.

Valve fixes several critical bugs in the latest update

Spirit Breaker
Spirit Breaker is perhaps the best chaser in Dota 2.

The latest update aims to fix a few crucial bugs in the game. The first is with Phylactery. When used on a unit that dies, the spell has weird interactions after that. In most situations that doesn’t matter, but for Spirit Breaker it does. When Spirit Breaker charges a unit and kills them with Phylactery’s proc, the Charge changes target to a random person around the map, instead of the nearest valid target as the spell intends.

Another critical bug is Stormcrafter proccing its Bottled Lightning with no cooldown. This can be done by picking and dropping the item, resetting the cooldown each time. Obviously not intended and glad to see it fixed.

There are other fixes in the latest update and you can find the full list here. They include fixes to Universal heroes, Dota Plus, and several other issues in the game.
