Over the past few days, things have gotten interesting regarding links between the Dolphins and Colts running back Jonathan Taylor.
After some internal strife over a trade request from Taylor, the Colts have given Taylor and his representation permission to seek a trade, with everyone believing it will be the Miami Dolphins that shows the most interest in the All-Pro running back.

With the Dolphins unable to sign four-time Pro Bowler Dalvin Cook, who ended up signing with the New York Jets, the logical decision for Miami is to trade for Taylor if they really want to upgrade the position.
However, head coach Mike McDaniel won’t speak about other players on other teams, and he’ll leave it up to Dolphins general manager Chris Grier to update him and what’s going on, as he told reporters via Pro Football Talk.
“I’ve said this before: I’m not going to speak about other players,” McDaniel said. “And how many times do I have to explain, Chris Grier’s job is to work. He works at it a lot and keeps me abreast when they’re real. Generally when things are real, I don’t have questions about them. There’s been kind of a consistent pattern where we’ve talked about all sorts of players.
“So reports, whatever, that’s kind of the — it seems like the noise that is around the business.”

This isn’t a denial, but it also doesn’t provide any clarity on the situation, as there’s no telling whether Miami will ultimately trade for the star back.
If the Dolphins can get their hands on Taylor, Miami will instantly become a serious threat in the AFC with arguably one of the best offenses in the NFL.
