DMCC Strengthens UAE-US Trade Ties with Successful Roadshows in San Francisco and Denver

DMCC, the premier free zone and Dubai Government Authority on commodities trade and enterprise, has successfully wrapped up its second Made for Trade Live roadshow of the year in the United States, visiting San Francisco, California, and Denver, Colorado. The roadshow is part of DMCC’s broader strategy to enhance UAE-US trade and investment across critical economic sectors.

As the UAE remains the leading destination for US foreign direct investment in the Middle East, DMCC presented American business leaders with insights into Dubai’s business-friendly environment, top-tier infrastructure, and the vast opportunities available for American enterprises in Dubai.

With nearly 700 US companies currently operating within DMCC, the district hosts over 45% of the estimated 1,500 American businesses in the UAE. As bilateral non-oil trade between the UAE and the US reached a record high of USD 31.4 billion in 2023, DMCC sees significant potential for American companies looking to establish or expand their regional presence from Dubai.

Ahmed Bin Sulayem, Executive Chairman and CEO of DMCC, remarked, “Dubai has long been the preferred regional hub for American companies. The record levels of trade and investment seen last year underscore Dubai’s continued appeal to US businesses, thanks to our market size, infrastructure, trade connectivity, and ease of doing business. With nearly 700 US companies in our district, we represent almost half of the American business presence in the UAE. Moving forward, we aim to consolidate this position by expanding our business ecosystems and exploring the immense potential of sectors such as tech, AI, energy, and more.”

The roadshow events were organized in collaboration with Airtifae, the San Francisco Chamber of Commerce, the Bay Area Council, the Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce, the Colorado Office of Economic Development & International Trade, World Trade Centre Denver, and Denver Mile High City.

DMCC’s Made for Trade Live roadshows play a crucial role in promoting Dubai as a premier business hub. Through this series, DMCC showcases Dubai’s unique value proposition, attracting substantial foreign direct investment (FDI) to the emirate. DMCC currently contributes 15% of Dubai’s annual FDI inflows and is home to over 24,000 businesses from around the world.
