The quarterfinals for men’s singles play at Wimbledon 2023 continue on Wednesday, as the final two matches are scheduled the be played. Third seed Medvedev will take on American Eubanks.
The winner of the match will have a day off before playing in the scheduled semifinal matches on Friday.

Medvedev Continues On
The medics had to be involved in Medvedev’s fourth round match that ended in his opponent Jiri Lehecka retiring at the end of the second set due to injury.
An unfortunate way to end one’s run at the tournament, Medvedev could only speak highly of his 21-year old opponent, who he didn’t even really realise was injured until after the fact.
But the 27-year old has his eyes on his second Grand Slam title as he continues on in. London. He’s now become the 10th active player to move onto the quarterfinals in all four Grand Slams.
Eubanks Upsets Stefano Tsitsipas
The 27-year old American said he was living a dream right now, after upsetting fifth seed Tsitsipas in a 3-6, 7(7)-6(4), 3-6, 6-4, 6-4 win. The American is playing his best tennis on grass.

This was a battle of a match, that went back and forth for both players. Neither player was playing their best at the start, but both managed to take advantage of their opponent’s mistakes.
Eubanks went onto record 12 aces, one more than his opponent, and had a 73 win percentage when landing his first serves. Despite having five double faults to Tsitsipas’ four, Tsitsipas’ double faults came at horrible times, with big points on the line.
With his fourth round win, Eubanks has reached his maiden major quarter-final.
Second Meeting of the Year
Prior to 2023, these two had never met on tour, and now they will be going head-to-head for the second time. They played each other earlier this year in Miami during the quarterfinals, where Medevedev won in straight sets.

On paper, Medvedev is the more experienced player overall, but the quarterfinals at Wimbledon is new territory for both players.
