The Cleveland Cavaliers (4-5, 3-2 away, 3-6 ATS) play the third game of a four-game western road trip tonight when they visit the Sacramento Kings (4-4, 3-1 home, 4-4 ATS) at the Golden 1 Center at 7:10 pm PT/10:10 pm ET.
With star point guard De’Aaron Fox (ankle) listed as “doubtful”, the Kings find themselves as 2.5-point home underdogs to a Cleveland team that’s coming off its best win of the season, a 118-110 road victory at Golden State as 4.5-point underdogs.

Kings Adjusting to Fox-less Lineup
With a full-strength lineup, the Kings started the season 2-1 with wins over the Jazz and Lakers and a setback to the Warriors. After Fox was sidelined, they dropped three in a row – all on the road – to the Warriors and Rockets (twice). They finally managed to get back in the win column last Wednesday with a narrow and uninspiring 121-118 OT win over the rebuilding Trail Blazers, but backed it up with a 105-98 victory over OKC as 1.5-point home underdogs.
Kevin Huerter had by far his best game of the season with a game-high 28 points plus nine boards. Huerter, who averaged 15.4 PPG last year, was averaging under 10 PPG heading into the OKC game.
Fox was averaging a team-high 31.3 PPG and 6.0 APG before he went down. In his absence, the Kings have had more of a scoring-by-committee approach. Domantas Sabonis (17.4 PPG), Malik Monk (14.4), Keegan Murray (13.8), Harrison Barnes (12.1), and Kevin Huerter (11.5) are all averaging double-figures, but none are nearing 20.
Sabonis has played more of a point-forward role since Fox went down, averaging 7.8 assists in five games without the team’s point guard.
In nine games without Fox last season, the Kings managed to go 4-5, including a 106-95 win at Cleveland, but the Cavs were missing leading scorer Donovan Mitchell. Sabonis had a monster game, especially on the glass, hauling in 18 rebounds, to go along with 18 points and six assists.
Cavs Finally at Full Strength
Cleveland got off to a sluggish start, especially on their home court, while battling injuries. The Cavs lost three of their first four games of the season, all at home, while center Jarrett Allen and guard Darius Garland both missed time. But the only injury of note for Cleveland heading into Monday night’s game is Isaac Okoro (9.5 PPG, 5.0 RPG), who is out with a knee injury. Okoro last played on November 3 and the Cavs are 2-1 without him, including home and away victories over the Warriors.
Cleveland did, however, get soundly beaten by OKC (128-120) in between the wins over Golden State. Cleveland’s last lead in that game was 11-9 just 3.5 minutes into the first quarter. They trailed by 13 at halftime and never got within four after that. Evan Mobley had a team-high 22, while Shai Gilgeous-Alexander absolutely torched the Cleveland defense for 43 points on 15-of-22 shooting from the field.

Player props and odds from the DraftKings Sportsbook app.
Mitchell has the highest point total on the board at 28.5, while Sabonis is the top Sacramento player at 18.5. The Kings big-man also has, by a wide margin, the highest rebound total for the night at 12.5. Mobley (9.5) and Allen (8.5) have the highest rebound O/Us among Cavs players.
Cavaliers vs Kings Predictions
The Cavs back-to-back wins over the Warriors were undeniably impressive, especially the road win. Cleveland was just 20-21 away from home last year, the only top-six seed in the East with a losing road record. The Kings haven’t had the greatest home-court advantage in recent history; over the past four seasons, they have only won two more games at home than they have on the road. But they have gotten off to a better start at the Golden 1 Center this year (3-1 at home), including a 2-0 home record without Fox.
Even with Fox still sidelined, this game is closer to a coin-flip than the odds suggest, and I see value on the Kings as +120 home underdogs.
My favorite player prop tonight is Sabonis to go over his rebound total of 12.5. Evan Mobley and Jarrett Allen are a formidable pair on the glass for Cleveland, but the last time these teams met, Sabonis was a beast on the boards, grabbing 18 rebounds. He’s the only Sacramento player averaging more than 6.8 RPG, and the only King over 6’8 who’s playing more than 12.8 minutes per night. Always a ferocious competitor, the 6’10 Lithuanian will need to shoulder a massive burden on the glass.
Cavs vs Kings Picks:
- Kings moneyline (+120)
- Sabonis over 12.5 rebounds (-120)
