- Philadelphia is a 3-point home favorite over the Browns in week two of the NFL Preseason
- Carolina’s Bryce Young will take on the Giants on Friday after struggling in his pro debut last week
- Thursday’s NFL Preseason Game kicks off from Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, PA at 7:30pm ET
Every year we’re told the NFL Preseason is meaningless. But players are battling for jobs, rookie quarterbacks are seeing their first starts, and fantasy football managers have their eyes peeled for any depth chart and playing-time revelations. Not to mention all the sports bettors who make money on exhibition games by keeping their ears to the ground for any hints offered by coaches.
Before we check the odds on Thursday’s Eagles vs Browns matchup and both contests on Friday, here’s where you can find the best Super Bowl betting tips and the top betting sites for NFL football in 2023.
Eagles vs Browns

Cleveland Browns | +3.0 (-120) | Ov 39 (-115) |
Philadelphia Eagles | -3.0 (+100) | Un 39 (-110) |
Philadelphia vs Cleveland
Philadelphia is a 3-point home favorite on Thursday night. The Eagles almost ended Baltimore’s 23-game preseason win streak last Saturday with a narrow 20-19 defeat. With the loss, head coach Nick Siriani dropped to 1-5-1 all-time in the NFL’s exhibition season. However, that one victory came against Cleveland last year.
Jalen Hurts sat out the opening week of the preseason this year while Deshaun Watson played one series, finishing 3 of 3 for 12 passing yards with 20 yards on the ground on three carries. It’s too early to tell if either will see action on Thursday, but the playing time will be minimal either way. What we do know is Browns coach Kevin Stefanski has a 4-2 career record in the preseason. He also has a superior backup quarterback in Dorian Thompson-Robinson.

Dorian Thompson-Robinson completed nine-of-ten passes for 102 yards and a touchdown against Washington in Week 1 of the preseason. He also went 8-of-11 for 82 passing yards and a score in the Hall of Fame Game versus the Jets, with 36 rushing yards.
While highly-drafted rookies such as Bryce Young, CJ Stroud and Anthony Richardson struggled in their first professional action, the fifth-round pick from UCLA has been a revelation. We’ll take Cleveland to cover the +3 points and win outright on Thursday night.
Friday’s NFL Preseason Games
Spread | Total Points | |
Carolina Panthers | +3.0 (-110) | Ov 36 (-115) |
New York Giants | -3.0 (-110) | Un 36 (-105) |
Cincinnati Bengals | +5.0 (-110) | Ov 38.5 (-110) |
Atlanta Falcons | -5.0 (-110) | Un 38.5 (-110) |
Giants vs Panthers
Carolina is a 3-point underdog to the Giants on Friday. No. 1 overall pick Bryce Young was under fire last Saturday against the Jets’ second-string defense. The 2021 Heisman Trophy winner was hit on three of his seven drop backs, finishing 4-of-6 passing for 21 yards in a 27-0 blowout loss. Despite the defeat, Panthers coach Frank Reich still maintains a solid 8-5-2 preseason record. That certainly trumps Brian Daboll, who fell to 0-4 with a 21-16 loss to the Lions last Friday.
Reich will likely want to get Young more reps under center against the G-Men’s mediocre pass rush. Assuming their offensive line can keep things together this week, we like the Panthers +3 and the moneyline.

Falcons vs Bengals
Arthur Smith chose not to play sophomore quarterback Desmond Ridder last Friday. Stars such as Bijan Robinson, Kyle Pitts and Drake London also stayed glued to the bench in the Falcons 19-3 victory over the Dolphins. The win improved Smith to 3-4 in the preseason, while his opponent Zac Taylor is 5-6 following the Bengals’ 36-19 loss to the Packers last week.
With Joe Burrow still recovering from a calf injury, we know Cincinnati’s starting QB won’t be seeing the field. Meanwhile, Ridder and the first-team offense should receive some reps. That’s enough to pick the Falcons -5 on Friday night.
