- Kansas City (2-1) is a 9.5-point road favorite over the Jets (1-2) in Week 4 of the NFL season
- Zach Wilson faces a red-hot Chiefs defense that’s allowing only 13.3 points per game
- Sunday Night Football on NBC kicks off from MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, NJ at 8:20pm ET
You have to feel for NBC executives and red-blooded American football fans. Instead of the Patrick Mahomes-Aaron Rodgers showdown we were promised, Sunday Night Football will now showcase Zach Wilson.
In terms of entertainment, let’s face it – the best we can now hope for is a Taylor Swift appearance in the MetLife luxury suites. However, that won’t stop us from making our prized picks. Before we check the odds on the game, here’s where you can find the best Super Bowl betting tips and the top betting sites for NFL football in 2023.

Kansas City Chiefs | -9.5 (-116) | -450 | Ov 42.0 (-110) |

Zach Wilson under fire
After leading offense to only two touchdowns in consecutive losses to the Cowboys and Patriots, Zach Wilson is again under fire in New York City. Appearing on “The Michael Kay Show”, franchise legend Joe Namath said the third-year starter was “awful” in Sunday’s 15-10 loss to New England and that he’d officially “seen enough of Zach Wilson.”
On Tuesday, the Jets signed veteran quarterback Trevor Siemian, but the 31-year-old will need time to familiarize himself with the playbook. That means Wilson will again be under center against a Chiefs defense that registered three sacks and 21 pressures in a 41-10 win over Chicago in week 3.

Kelce gets the girl
Sitting alongside Travis Kelce’s mother, Donna, Taylor Swift witnessed her newest squeeze snag a touchdown on Sunday. Patrick Mahomes also became the fastest player to reach 25,000 career passing yards since at least 1970, throwing for 272 yards and three TDs in the blowout victory over the Bears.
While the Chiefs looked sharp on offense for the first time this season, a Jets defense led by Sauce Gardner and Quinnen Williams will present a far greater challenge.
Kansas City vs New York
New York is a 9.5-point home underdog in MetLife Stadium and the over-under is set at a miniscule 42 points. As always, it’s difficult to see how Zach Wilson will be able to generate any offense. Even his running backs, Breece Hall and Dalvin Cook, are struggling – rushing for only 102 yards in Wilson’s two starts.
Meanwhile, Steve Spagnuolo’s defense has permitted just 13.3 points and 280.7 yards per game. Both marks rank top six in the NFL. In comparison, Robert Saleh’s much-ballyhooed D is allowing seven more points and almost 70 more yards per game.

Best Bets
Kansas City made a habit of not covering the spread in 2022, but they’ve done just that in consecutive victories over the Jaguars and Bears. Now facing a hopeless Jets franchise that’s circling the drain, the Chiefs will have no trouble winning this one by 10+ points on Sunday Night Football.
With defensive touchdowns against Zach Wilson in play, we’ll also take the OVER 42 points.
