Connections of METABOLT will no doubt be heading to Chester on Friday evening to try and witness David Loughnane’s runner complete a first career hat-trick.
The four-year-old has recently won at Haydock in May and Windsor in June, and Loughnane and his team clearly feel the time is right to try and land a career first.
Metabolt had only won once before his success this summer, and he now seems to be running at his peak after a 199-day break.
The son of Night Of Thunder has been handed a 5lb penalty for his recent success, and that should not stop him on this occasion.
20:00 – Market Value @ EVS
Loughnane saddles Sparks Fly over one mile two furlongs at 20:00, but the three-year-old may struggle to overcome a hefty 10lb penalty after recently winning four on the spin.
That should play into the hands of MARKET VALUE for trainer William Haggas. Market Value, owned by HM The King & HM The Queen, was last seen when winning at Ripon in May.
That was Market Value’s best performance to date, and she is expected to do the business on her handicap debut.
21:00 – Ecclesiastical @ 3/1
The seventh and final contest to come will take place at 21:00, a race in which there are four places up for grabs thanks to Betfred’s “Extra Place Race” promotion.
Hopefully, ECCLESIASTICAL will not need those extra places on Friday, and he should be able to outrun a 5lb penalty.
The six-year-old was given that after a two-length victory at Ripon earlier this month, and the switch to Tristan Davison’s stable in May seems to have worked wonders.
Davidson’s yard are in good form of late, and a low draw in stall two should certainly boost Ecclesiastical’s chances of victory.
