Madalynne’s November collection packs a punch with our favorite jewel tones – copper and jade. With a 70s vibe, the focus of this collection is versatility, offering the usual DIY lingerie kits and ready mades, but with add ons for pants and skirts to make it a whole outfit. Lingerie lovers, the Galina monowire bra + panty, Margo bralette bra + Ross panty are also included.
This blog post serves as a helpful guide to sewing DIY kits from Madalynne’s November collection. Often, by the time you’re ready to tackle your kit, the product listing may no longer be available—whether it sold out or was posted a while ago. If your kit includes a variation of the original pattern, it’s easy to forget what the changes were or how to approach them. But don’t worry! This post will provide a concise overview of how each kit is made, including any variations. If you still have questions after reading, feel free to email hello@madalynne.com, and I’ll do my best to guide you through the process.
Rey Longline Underwire Bra: This is a variation of the underwire bra from Madalynne’s book, Sew Lingerie, that uses the Godiva frame pattern piece to create a longline silhouette. It also has exposed underwire channeling and no wide bottom band at the bottom of the bra.
Top Bra Cup: One layer of stretch galloon lace. Cut out as per instructions. Even though the pattern calls for non stretch lace, stretch lace is included in the kits.
Lower Bra Cups: One layer of crochet lace and one layer of sheer cup lining. Cut out and sewn as per instructions.
Frame: One layer of crochet lace and one layer of sheer cup lining. The center front and side front frame pieces were combined to make sewing easier.
Back Band: One layer of crochet lace and one layer of stretch mesh.
*Watch sew along for the Godiva and the Rey on YouTube.
*Since the frame of the bra was lengthened, you will have to adjust the width of the back band so that it fits into the frame and the side seam.
Tonika Panty: You could use several Madalynne patterns for the matching thong. The panty in the photos is the Tonika, but the Buffy or Odessa could be used.
Front + Back Panty: One layer stretch crochet lace with one layer of stretch mesh.
*Waistline and leg openings finished with fold over elastic.
Rey Longline Underwire Bra: Another variation of the underwire bra from Madalynne’s book, Sew Lingerie. The same method that was used for the previous variation was used for this variation – we used the Godiva frame pattern piece to create a longline silhouette. It also has exposed underwire channeling and no wide bottom band at the bottom of the bra.
Bra Cups: One layer of non stretch embroidered tulle lace assembled using this tutorial to show off the scallop edge.
Frame: One layer of jade decorative shimmer mesh, two layers of stretch mesh, and sheer cup lining. The jade decorative mesh is very sheer, and if it was just lined with sheer cup lining, it would not look like it was jade. A technique that we use a lot is to line sheer fabrics with different colors of mesh to achieve the color we want. For this Rey, we used 4 layers – sheer cup lining (bottom), teal stretch mesh and brown stretch mesh (middle), and then the jade decorative shimmer mesh (top). All layers were spray basted together prior to sewing.
Back Band: One layer of jade decorative shimmer mesh, two layers of stretch mesh (teal and brown). All layers were spray basted together prior to sewing.

*Since the frame of the bra was lengthened, you will have to adjust the width of the back band so that it fits into the frame and the side seam.
Madalynne X Simplicity S9833 Panty: Cut and sewn as per the instructions!
This fun combo kit can make the Buffy Corset Top, the Rosemary Top, or the Odessa Corset Top. The Buffy, Odessa or Tonika thong panty pattern can be used to make it a set. All of them follow the patterns (no variations) except for the Rosemary. The underarm and top band band are finished with fold over elastic instead of picot elastic, and a regular bra ring is used to attached the lace sleeve to the bodice. Picot elastic is included in the kits so you can make the pattern a per the instructions.
Margo Bralette (left and right) and Galina Monowire Bra + Panty (middle): There are only super minor changes to each style, so I’m grouping them together. For the Galina, the bra cups are unlined and use a non stretch scallop lace, which is a variation of the original pattern. You can watch the tutorial here.
For the Margo Bralette, the scallop lace below the wide band was eliminated. The underarm and top back band are finished with fold over elastic instead of picot elastic.
