There’s a seven-race card at Chepstow on Friday afternoon, 1.20pm – 4.50pm. Top jock Jim Crowley is here, riding one for Shadwell and a couple of nice outside rides on horses he’s never ridden in public. Interesting ..
Chepstow is a big, galloping, left-handed track used for both National Hunt and Flat racing. Stamina and grit is certainly required up the long, testing home straight.
Chepstow Betting Tips:
- 1.50 – Chelsea Square @ 15/8
- 2.25 – Rhubarb @ 7/2
Date: Friday 2nd June
Time: First race at 13:20
Location: Chepstow, Monmouthshire, Wales
1.50 Chelsea Square
Just the one run so far, and what a belter it was. At Newbury no less, too. 7f is again the trip, and there was much to admire about that debut effort.
Gets a nice bit of weight from penalised all-weather scorer Monte Linas, and has Hector Crouch aboard for Ralph Beckett. The 3-yr-old gelding can open his account on Friday afternoon.
2.25 Rhubarb
The aforementioned, vastly experienced and talented Mr Crowley takes the mount, and this one was beaten just a head in a similar contest here just over a fortnight ago.
This course-and-distance winner enjoys fast ground and with a bit of added Crowley magic perhaps can get her pretty head in front this afternoon, for trainer Richard Price.
Enjoy your sport – what a weekend it’s going to be, starting on Friday. Take care, and good luck!
