17.40 – Winning Connections Fillies’ Novice Stakes – 1m
FAKHAMA created a good impression when winning on debut at Newbury and ran well upped in grade at York last time when fourth in a Listed event. This is much easier, so it would be a major disappointment if she couldn’t outclass these. In spite of her penalty, she is the one to beat in the opener.
Tips: FAKHAMA
18.15 – Betsi Handicap – 1m
VELVET VULCAN improved on his two previous efforts to finish fifth at Wolverhampton last time and that form has substance as the fourth is now rated in the mid-80s and is progressive. This four-year-old hasn’t been seen in a long time but could be ready to go well. CHAGALL has C&D-winning form and should pose a threat.
Tips: VELVET VULCAN, CHAGALL
18.45 – Ministry Of Sound Disco 2nd September Handicap – 1m2f
GREATGADIAN bagged back-to-back C&D wins last year off mark of 92 and 98 and is down to a mark of 90 now. He was also a close third over C&D this year in a stronger race off a mark of 99. He is drawn well and has the class to defy top-weight. HOWTH was third over C&D two starts back in a tougher race and also has a decent chance.
Tips: GREATGADIAN, HOWTH
19.15 – Remembrance Race Day 11th November Fillies’ Handicap – 1m2f
Alan King’s MAYFAIR GOLD is building up a solid profile on the all-weather and her record over C&D now reads 212 from three starts. She only found a subsequent winner too good over track and trip last-time-out and is only a pound higher for this race. She merits inclusion under Oisin Murphy despite being drawn wide.
Tips: MAYFAIR GOLD
19.45 – CCR Classified Stakes – 6f
CAPPANANTY CON is a veteran but is back on the same mark as when scoring at Wolverhampton and has to be considered from a nice draw. STORM MELODY is a previous course winner off a seven pounds higher mark and should be competitive from this basement mark with a nice low draw to contend with.
Tips: CAPPANANTY CON, STORM MELODY
20.15 – chelmsfordcityracecourse.com Handicap – 5f
SELINA’S STAR makes the most appeal in this race. She ran a good race when a close-up thief over C&D on handicap debut back in January in a higher-grade event and is lower in the handicap now. She should be competitive with plenty in her favour.
Tips: SELINA’S STAR
