Château des Crès Ricards, Oenothera, Chardonnay, Terrasses du Larzac, 2022
Lifted and sweet nose with char, kid and saddle leather, pastille, ‘throatie’ jube, fruit toast, liqueur cherry, choc orange, fruit mince pie, plum paste and medicinal herbs. The fruit mince/peel profile is potent with that polish from the kirsch. Silky and full before flattish, grippy, waxy tannin and a muscular, bruising feel. Darkly brutal with a floral edge.
