Team News

Celta full-back Javi Rodriguez could be promoted to the starting lineup after coming on as a substitute against Alaves.

Iago Aspas is also in line to start but Luca de la Torre and Vicente Guaita are injured.

For Valencia, Ruben Baraja could stick with the same team that lost to Barcelona on the opening weekend.

Goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili is set for a move to Liverpool but will likely remain at Valencia on loan and should feature.

Celta Vigo vs Valencia Odds

Celta Vigo are 6/5 to post a win, while the draw is 9/4. Valencia can be backed at 12/5 to pick up the three points.

Both teams to score, meanwhile, is 10/11, while over 2.5 goals is priced at 6/5.

Celta Vigo to win @ 6/5

Celta Vigo are among the more consistent outfits in La Liga, having finished 11th, 13th and 13th in the last three seasons.

But fans of the club will be after more under Claudio Giraldez this season and they made the perfect start last Friday.

Having gone a goal down after 17 minutes against Alaves, Celta Vigo rallied and ran out 2-1 winners on home soil after a stirring second-half performance.

And fans will be pleased to see their team are back at their Balaidos home this weekend.

Six of their 10 league victories and 24 of the club’s 41 points were collected at Balaidos last season, whereas visitors Valencia sustained 10 league defeats on the road.

Los Che will also be licking their wounds after their 2-1 loss to Barcelona on Saturday and Vigo are the best bet to win the match.

Celta Vigo to win at 6-5

Iago Aspas to score at anytime @ 11/5

Although he turned 37 at the start of the month, club legend Iago Aspas still runs the show for Celta Vigo and he is worth backing to score on Friday.

The former Liverpool man excelled in his team’s opening win over Alaves, bagging the winning goal after 84 minutes.

Indeed, he managed three shots in the match, two of which were on target, and was arguably his team’s standout player going forward.

Aspas was not his team’s leading scorer in La Liga last term, but nonetheless bagged nine goals in Spain’s top flight and he was on the scoresheet when these sides clashed on the final day of last season.

Aspas anytime at 11-4
