CBD with Bre: LoFi 1:1 Vape
Welcome to CBD With Bre, a blog series where I, as a self-proclaimed CBD noob, recount my experiences getting into the world of CBD. While I have a fair amount of knowledge on the research and science side of things, as I’m learning, it’s quite different when applied off the page.
Today, it’s finally time for me to try Lofi’s new 1:1 Vape, a collab between Woody Nelson’s Rainbow Driver and Terroir Craft Farms’ Nostalgia. It’s no secret that I loved the original vape Lofi put out, and Nostalgia quickly took the place for my favorite CBD experience. Somewhat recently, I’ve been getting more into THC products, especially ones that are a good CBD/THC balance, so I was really looking forward to trying the 1:1 vape. Let’s just say I wasn’t let down.
Just as a general disclaimer, the purpose of this post is to discuss my experiences and isn’t meant to endorse any particular product. The hope is that by sharing some of my experiences and sharing a bit of product knowledge, I can give folks a bit more of an understanding of what they may be getting into, or what to expect. However, it’s important to note that everyone’s body is different, so your experience may be very different than my own.
About the 1:1 Vape
LoFi’s 1:1 Vape is 1 gram of cured resin made with a blend of Nostalgia craft hemp and Woody Nelson’s Rainbow Driver craft flower. Extracted by Wildcard Extracts in Salmon Arm BC using a hydrocarbon system. Made in BC. No distillate or botanical terpenes here.
Our first step is finding some high-quality hemp flower. Provided by our good friends at Terroir Craft Farms, we selected the Nostalgia for it’s high-CBD content and exceptional terpene profile. As the first LoFi product to feature THC, we knew we had to do it right. Fortunately, the homies at Woody Nelson were happy to provide us with some of their award-winning Rainbow Driver.
Once extraction is complete, the blended extract is shipped back to us at the Woody Nelson facility where we manage filling, capping, and packaging. Our 1:1 Vape arrives in a sliding tin with a foam insert made by Cannasupplies.
My Experiences
I was a big fan of the Lofi Nostalgia vape when it first came out, so I was pretty stoked to have a chance to try the 1:1 version. It took me a while to get my hands on, so by the time I got to try it, I had heard so many good things I was definitely feeling late to the party. And for good reason – the 1:1 vape is delightful.
The first thing I noticed was just how good it tastes. I don’t say that a lot for cannabis products – I haven’t traditionally been a huge fan of strong cannabis flavour – but this was definitely an exception. It’s sweet with fresh notes of citrus and florals (at least in my opinion). In this way, it’s a really nice smoking experience.
In terms of the effects, the balance between the CBD and THC works really well here; the THC relaxes and helps chase away anxiety while the CBD helps to direct focus. Personally, cannabis really takes it out of me. There’s no focus or productivity when I’m high. CBD on the other hand, helps me destress, focus in, and get things done. With the Lofi 1:1 vape, I feel like the THC gives me all the relaxing, feel-good aspects of cannabis, but with enough CBD to balance it out. I feel good while still being able to function. This is usually what I’m looking for in my cannabis, so this is a big win to me. Paired with the convenience and accessibility of vaping? I’m a fan for sure.
From the Team
Greg from Terroir Craft Farms:
“Such an awesome product, a true representation of ‘soil to oil’ with a balanced profile to boot. LSO grown Rainbow Driver, sun grown Nostalgia and the artists over at Pantheon to tie it all together. I mean… It can’t not be good, right?”
Jolyon, Woody Nelson Facility Designer:
“This is my favourite vape and has a fantastic flavour. It’s incredible tasting with notes of the Rainbow Driver coming through. Better than the pure Rainbow Driver vape, in my opinion. It’s also got a good balance between the THC and CBD. I’ve been using cannabis more therapeutically since I’m still struggling with a concussion, and this one has been great. I’m still able to be productive and do things while also taking the edge off.
The vape was extracted by Pantheon, who also does Wildcard extracts. We take a trim of Rainbow Driver, the flower of Nostalgia, and extract both using hydrocarbon extraction. This is what leads to the clear colour.
We were trying to get the cart specs right and ended up updating the one we were using. We haven’t had any experiences or issues with clogging or leaking. The vape is also filled in house with a precision robot. Since all the products flow differently, we had to adjust for each one. Nostalgia is easiest cart to fill with Rainbow Driver being the second, but mixing them both together causes a bit more of a challenge. We have to be very precise with the temperature. Thankfully, we have tech to help with this. It has to be constantly mixed and heated in order to flow properly, but we also don’t want it too hot that it’ll burn away quality and terpenes.”
TL;DR
While there hasn’t necessarily been a Lofi product I haven’t liked yet, my experience continues to get better with every new release. In my opinion, the Lofi Vape 1:1 offers the best of both worlds – enough THC to relax and enough CBD to focus. For me, personally, it’s a great way to experience both Nostalgia and Rainbow Driver without the hassle of having to roll a joint and smoke them. Between the taste, effects, and accessibility, the 1:1 vape definitely gets my recommendation.
