The Carolina Panthers come to Chicago to face the Bears in the NFL Week 10 TNF game with an NFL-worst 1-7 record and a defensive unit that’s riddled with injuries in the Panthers vs Bears injury reports.
In last week’s loss to the Indianapolis Colts, WLB Brian Burns and RCB CJ Henderson were lost to concussions and will be out this week.
For the Bears, QB1 Justin Fields (dislocated thumb), though showing as doubtful for this game, won’t be playing.
Chicago is the 3.5-point home chalk over Carolina in the Panthers vs Bears odds. Chicago is 5-1 SU in the past six home games against Carolina.
So far in the Panthers vs Bears public betting splits, Chicago is getting 55% of ATS handle and 87% of moneyline bets.
Panthers Defense Decimated
Along with Burns and Henderson, there are 14 Panthers players on the defensive side of the ball carrying an injury designation. They are especially short-staffed at LB and in the secondary.

How Could Injuries Affect Panthers vs Bears Betting Lines?
Adding to the Carolina defensive injury woes, both current starters at safety – Vonn Bell (quadriceps) and Xavier Woods (thigh) are showing as questionable for this game. As well, reserve LB Luiji Viljain (knee), Chandler Wooten (ankle) and Marquis Haynes Sr (back) were all placed on IR this week.
Facing such a depleted secondary, Chicago WR DJ Moore, going up against his old club for the first time, is getting plenty of action in the Bears vs Panthers player props.
Both Woods and Bell were limited in practice but each is expected to play.
Burns is the best pass rusher for the Panthers, so that lack of pressure certainly helps Bagent as he continues to adjust to the NFL after playing Division II NCAA football at Shepherd.
Neither Davis or Edmunds practiced at all this week for the Bears. Chicago had hoped to be activating RB and KR Khalil Herbert (ankle) from IR. Although a full participant in practice, the latest news is that he’s been ruled out this week.
On a more positive note, WR Equanimeous St Brown (hamstring) and CB Josh Blackwell (hamstring) are expected to return to action from IR. Safety Jaquan Brisker (concussion) will be back after missing the previous two games. That means Chicago will have a fully healthy starting secondary for just the fourth time in the past 10 games.
