- Bijan Robinson (+190) remains the favorite to win 2023 NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year
- Anthony Richardson (+350) suffered a concussion after rushing for two touchdowns in week 2
- CJ Stroud (+1400) ranks fourth in the NFL with 626 passing yards in his first two outings
Bijan Robinson carried his team to victory on Sunday, generating 172 total yards in Atlanta’s 25-24 victory over the Packers. The Texas product has the shortest NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year odds heading into week 3, but a running back hasn’t claimed the award in the past four years.

Bijan is still the favorite
Bijan Robinson (+190) has certainly lived up to the hype so far, displaying incredible pass catching, jukes and cuts in two Falcons wins. In Sunday’s victory over the Packers, the electric back forced four missed tackles and ran for 88 yards after contact. However, there are a few things working against the 21-year old.
Bijan’s backfield mate Tyler Allgeier is stealing goal line carries. He’s at an increased risk of injury playing the running back position. And recent Offensive Rookie of the Year voting history is not in his favor. Quarterbacks have won two of the past four awards and three of the last seven.
#Falcons rookie RB Bijan Robinson really put on a show yesterday…
One of the broadcasters says he reminds him of Barry Sanders. It’s a fair comparison, Bijan is so shifty.

Quarterback contenders
Anthony Richardson (+350) scored two rushing TDs in the first quarter of Sunday’s win against the Texans but was forced out of the game with a concussion. If he can stay healthy, the dual-threat QB is almost a lock to win the OROY while racking up counting stats in a Shane Steichen offense custom-built for him. But that’s a big ‘if’ given that A-Rich has left his first two career starts with injuries.
CJ Stroud (+1400) is currently our favorite bet on the board. The No. 2 overall pick’s 626 passing yards rank fourth in the NFL through two weeks. And while most of his numbers were generated in garbage time, that’s where the lowly Texans will be living this year. Meanwhile, you can forget about No. 1 overall pick Bryce Young (+2000). He’s averaging under 150 passing yards through two games.
Puka Nacau shines
You would be in line for a huge payday if you wagered on Puka Nacau (+500) prior to the season. Sean McVay’s new play toy set a new NFL record for most catches in a player’s first two games with 25. The fifth-round pick should continue to produce as long as Cooper Kupp is on the shelf.
Wide receivers have captured the past two OROYs (Garrett Wilson, Ja’Marr Chase) after going six years without claiming the award.

Longshots to keep an eye on
Zay Flowers (+1400) has hauled in 13 receptions for 140 yards in two contests, emerging as a perfect complement to Mark Andrews in the Ravens’ passing game.
Marvin Mims (+3300) has barely seen the field through two weeks, but still caught a beautiful 60-yard TD in week 2. The second-round pick’s skillset is perfect for Russell Wilson’s patented long bombs.
Jayden Reed (+6600) caught two scores in week 2. While he’ll need to break into 2-WR sets to make a run at the award, he appears to be Jordan Love’s favorite target… while Christian Watson is injured anyway.

Best Bet
Unlike other awards, with Offensive Rookie of the Year, voters don’t care how many wins a player’s team ends up with. Of the last 13 OROY winners, eight have played for a franchise that finished below .500.
That makes us comfortable rolling the dice on CJ Stroud at +1400, rather than making chalky, less profitable bets on Robinson or Richardson.
