BTTS Tips: Liverpool & Betis to Slot one in on Saturday

The Premier League may not be back for a few weeks yet, but there’s still an English football powerhouse featuring in my BTTS Tips this Saturday, July 27 as I serve up an 8.77/1 five-fold.

Read on for Saturday’s BTTS tips, which take us to the USA, Brazil, Denmark and Sweden.

BTTS Yes in EC Juventude vs Criciuma EC @ 5/6

Promoted pair Juventude and Criciuma face off in Campeonato Brasileiro Serie A on Saturday (23:00), with just three points separating the sides.

Hosts Juventude are two places ahead in the table and will be looking to extend their unbeaten run at Estadio Alfredo Jacoini to nine games after winning their first seven home matches in Serie A before drawing their last two.

The goalless draw with Sao Paulo last time out in Caxias do Sul was the first time they had failed to score at home all season, so the Verdao will be desperate to get back on the scoresheet in front of their own fans on Saturday.

Given that Criciuma have shipped 13 goals in eight games on their travels in Serie A, you’d be brave to back against the home side finding the net this weekend.

Juventude have also conceded just four times at Estadio Alfredo Jaconi this term, keeping five clean sheets, but their next opponents have, remarkably, scored in every single game they have played in the Brazilian top tier this year. Some going for a newbie.

Furthermore, both teams have scored in 15 of their 17 league outings (88%), while BTTS – Yes has landed in 10 of Juventude’s 17 matches (59%).

BTTS Yes in FC Nordsjaelland vs FC Midtjylland @ 4/9

In the Danish Superliga, Nordsjaelland and Midtjylland lock horns at the Right to Dream Park in Farum (15:00) with the visitors looking for their first win of the league season after opening up with a 1-1 draw against Aarhus last week.

Midtjylland did win 3-0 in Andorra on Tuesday, however, as they took control of their Champions League second-round qualifier against UE Santa Coloma ahead of next week’s return leg in Herning.

Nordsjaelland, meanwhile, beat Aalborg 3-0 to get off to a perfect start, but now face one of their toughest fixtures possible – a clash against the reigning champions.

If the last two head-to-heads are anything to go by, there should be goals in this one.

Nordsjaelland held out to win 3-2 at the MCH Arena in April before racing into a three-goal lead at home a month later, only to capitulate and draw 3-3.

BTTS Yes in Liverpool vs Real Betis @ 4/9

Liverpool began life after Jurgen Klopp with a behind-closed-doors pre-season friendly defeat to Preston North End (0-1) at the AXA Training Centre last week, but the real business starts on Saturday (00:30) when they play Real Betis in the first of three fixtures stateside.

The Spanish side were in action last Saturday, opening up pre-season with a 5-1 victory over Austria Salzburg, and they will now step up preparations for the forthcoming La Liga campaign with a friendly against the 2024 Carabao Cup champions.

Liverpool were unable to find a way past Preston’s defence but with a week’s extra training under their belts, new head coach Arne Slot will expect his players to get off the mark on Saturday.

The Reds were unfortunate not to score against the Lilywhites and it would be a surprise if they were denied again this weekend, especially with the likes of Mohamed Salah and Dominik Szoboszlai expected to play a half each in Pittsburgh.

Betis will fancy their own chances of scoring given the absences of several key Liverpool defenders including captain Virgil van Dijk and central defensive partner Ibrahima Konate.

BTTS Yes in Atlanta United vs DC United @ 8/15

Elsewhere in the USA, Atlanta United host DC United in the Leagues Cup with both teams looking to get off to a good start in Group 15.

Atlanta and DC have already met twice in MLS this year, with Saturday’s visitors to the Mercedes-Benz Stadium triumphing 3-2 at the same venue in May.

DC’s games are usually good for goals, with both teams scoring in 18 of their 25 (72%) league matches, while Atlanta are too far below them in that table at 16 in 25 (64%).

Both teams have found the net in seven of Atlanta’s last eight outings, and five of DC’s last six, so I’m confident we will see at least a strike on either side this Saturday (01:00).

BTTS Yes in Malmo FF vs IK Sirius @ 4/6

The fifth and final leg of this accumulator sees Malmo host Sirius in the Swedish Allsvenskan at Eleda Stadion on Saturday (16:30).

Reigning champions Malmo lead the way after 16 games played and look on course to make it back-to-back league titles.

They’ve scored 44 goals this term, at least 12 more than any other side in the Allsvenskan, and are yet to be shut out in the competition.

But they’re not infallible at the back, underlined by the fact that Djurgarden (14) have conceded fewer times than them (15), and BTTS – Yes has landed in their previous six matches, including Tuesday’s 4-1 victory over Faroese side Klaksvik in the first leg of their Champions League second-round qualifier.

Sirius struck three times against Malmo just week, taking a 2-0 and 3-2 lead before ultimately crumbling to a 4-3 defeat, but they should be encouraged by the vulnerability on show from last season’s title winners.
