Brentford Premier League Odds: Time to get Frank over Bees’ chances
After securing 13th spot in their debut Premier League campaign and following that achievement with a ninth-place finish in their second, there was bound to be disappointment among Brentford supporters last season as the Bees limped to 16th. Five-straight defeats in December and a nine-game winless streak between February and April were particular lowlights for the west London club.
But with Thomas Frank in charge, few thought Brentford would be in danger of relegation, and so it transpired. But can the Dane lift his side to greater heights this year? Below you can find the Brentford Premier League odds for the upcoming campaign, including their price for relegation and a top-half finish.

Brentford’s 2024/25 season was always likely to be a difficult one given the half-season absence of talisman Ivan Toney, who was banned after admitting to 232 counts of breaking the Football Association’s rules on betting.
In fairness, Yoane Wissa and Bryan Mbuemo didn’t do a bad job in helping to cover Toney’s goals, scoring 12 and nine times respectively in the Premier League, with Mbuemo also missing a quarter of the campaign through injury.
It was their porous defence that really let them down; the Bees conceded 56 Premier League goals in their debut season and knocked 10 off that total in their second before shipping a whopping 65 in 2023/24 – only West Ham United (74) and the three relegated clubs posted a poorer defensive record.
Frank, it has to be said, was crippled by a defensive injury crisis last year. First-choice full-backs Rico Henry and Aaron Hickey played a combined 14 games and neither were seen after November.
Favoured central defensive pairing Ben Mee and Ethan Pinnock endured lengthy absences themselves, the former failing to feature from March onwards and the latter missing Brentford’s entire nine-game winless run from February 17 to April 6.
The Bees haven’t made any defensive signings yet this summer and the returns of the aforementioned quartet might be why, although the fact that none of Henry, Hickey or Mee have featured in pre-season has sent alarm bells ringing.
Brentford’s only two summer signings – at the time of writing – are Igor Thiago and Fabio Carvalho, and a deal for the former was struck in January. The Brazilian forward bagged a brace on his unofficial debut for the Bees in a pre-season friendly against AFC Wimbledon on July 20 but, cruelly, suffered a meniscus injury and was subsequently ruled out until the end of the calendar year.
It was a devastating blow to Frank’s preparations for the upcoming campaign but he can, for the time being at least, count on the services of Toney, who has failed to secure the big-money move he so desperately craves.
Toney made a brilliant goalscoring return to first-team action earlier this year but then suffered a slump and failed to fire in his final 12 games for Brentford. The 28-year-old showed his talents at Euro 2024, however, helping England to turn around their last 16 tie with Slovakia before cooly dispatching a penalty in the quarter-final shootout success against Switzerland.
Speculation continues to swirl around his future, with clubs in Saudi Arabia even said to be queueing up for his signature. With less than a year remaining on his contract, Brentford must decide whether to cash in or not.
Given Thiago’s absence for the next few months, it might be wise to keep hold of Toney for another season and let him leave on a free next summer. Their Premier League survival chances may count on it.
Meanwhile, Carvalho should bring a creative spark to the side not seen since Christian Eriksen graced the Brentford Community Stadium in the first half of 2022, while Kevin Schade has enjoyed a productive pre-season, scoring three times, and will be a big plus after injury restricted the 22-year-old German forward to just 11 Premier League appearances in his first full season at the club.
Brentford supporters are still desperate for more signings, and for good reason. The clubs that finished around them last season have all strengthened, and standing still in the transfer market could prove detrimental to their chances of improving on their 2023/24 efforts.
