Two of the hottest teams in baseball clash in the City of Brotherly love, as the Atlanta Braves (46-26, 22-11 away) visit the Philadelphia Phillies (38-34, 19-11 home), in a game that suddenly has some implications in the NL East.
Philadelphia has been on a tear in June, going 13-4 and currently riding a 6-game win streak after sweeping the Oakland A’s. They’ve climbed four games over .500, and can cut into an 8-game Atlanta lead.
Atlanta is on its own 6-game fun-run, after crushing the Colorado Rockies in a 4-game sweep at home.

After giving up two runs or less in 10 of his first 12 starts, Atlanta’s Spencer Strider has been hit hard in his last couple of outings.
He got the win against the Tigers last game, but Strider went just five innings, giving up seven hits, five earned runs and three homers. He walked two and struck out six.

Prior to that, he was shelled for eight earned runs on eight hits, lasting just four innings against the Mets. He surrendered two more home runs, walking two and striking out eight, though Atlanta came back to win 13-10 in 10 innings.

Ranger Suarez has pitched extremely well in June, with three quality starts and his first win of the year.
Last time out, he went seven strong, giving up just four hits and no runs, walking two while fanning seven in a game the Phils eventually won 4-3 in 10 innings.
In his previous start, he went six innings, giving up four hits, one earned run with two walks and eight strikeouts, which resulted in a 5-4 win over the Dodgers.

Atlanta has been mashing themselves, piling up 40 runs across four games against Colorado, the finale a 14-6 romp.
Eddie Rosario went yard twice and drove in six, while Ozzie Albies had three hits, a home run and three RBI. Michael Harris was a perfect 5-5 with three runs scored and three RBI’s, and he also launched one into the stands.

Braves vs Phillies Prediction
Atlanta hasn’t fared well in Philly of late, having won just two times in their last seven visits. However, the Braves are an impressive 40-23 as the betting favorite, which ranks eighth and they trail only Tampa for the second-most wins.
