Beal was dealing with some lower back tightness to begin the season. The Suns are taking a cautious approach with their new addition as they are setting their sites on a championship. Beal is apart of a new “Big 3” in the NBA as he joins Kevin Durant and Devin Booker. Before the trade, Beal was apart of the Washington Wizards. During last season, Beal seemed to be on the outs with the organization due to them not being able to get it done in the Eastern Conference. Now he joins a Western Conference where the field is pretty much wide open.
Beal will not be the number one option for the Suns. Durant and Booker will easily be the number one an two options for this Suns team. But Beal being a third option is a very good luxury to have. Beal’s defensive end will definitely hold him back, but this offense will be too good for them not to be a top 6 seed in the Western Conference.
The Phoenix Suns are favorites to win the Pacific Division at +150 according to Arizona sportsbooks.
Devin Booker is also dealing with a toe injury and is questionable for tonight’s game. The Suns could be without two of their starting guards and may have to rely on Kevin Durant to carry the load for this offense. The Warriors will also be without Draymond Green as he deals with an ankle injury. It seems like both teams will have to rely on their bench depth in the season opener.
