It has been a sparse month for us in these accumulator columns but we have a Boxing Day special, hoping for a change of fortune heading into 2024.

We have a 16/1 fourfold for you to consider…

Boxing Day Accumulator Tips:

  • Back Newcastle United to Win in Newcastle United vs Nottingham Forest @ 1/2
  • Back AFC Bournemouth to Win in AFC Bournemouth vs Fulham @ 23/20
  • Back Portsmouth to Win in Bristol Rovers vs Portsmouth @ 6/5
  • Back Southend United to Win in Southend United vs Barnet @ 11/8
  • Overall Odds – 16/1

Leg 1 – Newcastle United vs Nottingham Forest – Home Win @ 1/2

Newcastle United might not be an exact replica of the Jekyll & Hyde tale but their performances home and away are a distinct polar opposite at the moment. In front of their own fans, they have won every league game bar the late capitulation against ten-man Liverpool. On the road, only Sheffield United have been beaten.

Nottingham Forest make the trek to the North East to play a Toon side clearly devoid of some confidence but back in front of their own supporters, it is tough to expect anything other than a victory for Eddie Howe’s side. It certainly helps seeing some of the injured players start to reemerge.

Leg 2 – AFC Bournemouth vs Fulham – Home Win @ 23/20

What we’ve been seeing going down at the Vitality this season has in a way, been similar to Newcastle above. Rather than home and away splits though, it has been the Cherries performances before and after the end of October.

Andoni Iriola’s side didn’t win a game in the league until a 2-1 home victory on October 28 and after a 6-1 shellacking at the Etihad a week later, they have won five of six and only a late Aston Villa equaliser has stopped that from 18 straight points.

Fulham had a nice little run a few weeks back but they were poor at Newcastle and a 2-0 defeat at home against Burnley is worrying. The way Bournemouth are playing right now, you have to like them to win at home and getting odds-against is tasty.

Leg 3 – Bristol Rovers vs Portsmouth – Away Win @ 6/5

Speaking of getting odds-against, seeing the EFL League 1 leaders at such a price on the road sticks out like a sore thumb when scrolling through the UK Longlist.

John Mousinho’s men were not at their best on Saturday against lowly Fleetwood Town but you have to remember that they haven’t tasted a defeat on their travels for over nine months. That is a crazy statistic.

Bristol Rovers are a solid outfit, who could certainly give Pompey problems but getting a team who haven’t lost on the road for that long at a decent price, they are an obvious play.

Leg 4 – Southend United vs Barnet – Home Win @ 11/8

Contracts have been exchanged Shrimpers fans. It is time to rejoice. Ron Martin is finally set to leave Roots Hall and that is something supporters of the Essex club have been looking for for many a year.

This news should lead to a bumper crowd on Boxing Day and they are welcoming in a side who have tasted defeat in three-straight matches. Barnet are reeling and the energy in that old ground should be powerful. I like the mid-table home side to beat the high-flying Bees.
