Flat racing comes from gorgeous Beverley, in the East Riding of Yorkshire. 7 races, 1.30pm – 5pm.
The great Oisin Murphy has a full book of rides, and it’s surely worth going if possible – or certainly tuning in just to see him. A generational talent.
Not masses of runners but enough to guarantee some excellent racing. As per, we’ll see if we can find a couple to run well for us.
Selections;
Leap Day 1.30
One of the hottest maidens you could wish to see at Beverley, with Messrs Charlton, Boughey, Easterby, Dunlop and Varian among those in the hunt.
Tim Easterby saddles Leap Day, just chinned here last time in a similar affair. Seemed to appreciate the trip and fast ground then, and must have a tremendous chance of going one better.
Berry Edge 4.25
Had to select one of Oisin’s, and this one I believe is value at the price. The former champion teams up with shrewd handler Michael Dods, on this course-and-distance winner.
Indicated last time at Ayr that his winning chance was probably close at hand, and Mr Murphy can get him home on Saturday.
Wish I was there in the sunshine, and if you’re lucky enough to be going, I’m sure you’ll enjoy yourself. If you’re tuning in, there’s much fun to be had, too – so take care as always, and enjoy.
