Betr Adds New Peer-to-Peer DFS Game, Debuts New Look Sportsbook

  • Betr  today announced a soft-launch of its new sportsbook in two states
  • The operator also debuted a new peer-to-peer pick’em DFS game
  • The new sportsbook is currently live in Ohio and Virginia

Betr announced today the launch of a new peer-to-peer DFS product “Group Mode” for Betr Picks, as well as the soft launch of its new Betr Sportsbook.

Group Mode has expanded Betr Pick’s reach to 33 states plus Washington, D.C. The new game is currently live in Florida and Massachusetts, with Virginia, Arizona, Tennessee, Missouri, Alabama, West Virginia, New Hampshire, and Delaware to be launched soon after.

Betr Sportsbook, according to the announcement, is currently live in Ohio and Virginia.

Betr Expanding Throughout Country

With the new DFS game, Betr Picks is now live in 34 jurisdictions, which represents 65% of the U.S. population. “Group Mode” in Betr Picks allows customers to experience its popular sports pick’em product in a peer-to-peer format, allowing users to player against each other instead of the house.

“We are thrilled to launch Group Mode for Betr Picks and to soft launch the new Betr Sportsbook,” said Joey Levy, Founder and CEO of Betr, in a release. “Today’s two product launches represent an important inflection point for Betr – Betr Picks will now be available to 65% of the U.S. population, enabling us to welcome millions of new sports fans to Betr for the first time, while the new Betr Sportsbook puts us on a path towards ramping investing in this vertical and positions us as having made the most progress towards competing in the Online Sports Betting industry amongst the other market leading fantasy sports pick’em operators. Significant product improvements are on the way across both Picks and Sportsbook but we are proud of the quick progress we have made here.”

Several states have cracked down on DFS competitions that pit users against the house. “Group Mode” will allow Betr to expand in states that have regulations against customer against the house models.

New Betr Sportsbook Now Live

The new Betr sportsbook will enable the company to expand beyond its microbetting roots. The sportsbook will allow users to engage in same game parlays, player props, futures, exotics, traditional markets, and other betting markets, both pre-match and in-play.

While live in Ohio and Virginia, Betr reports it will be launched in Indian and Maryland over the next coming months where the company holds temporary sports betting licenses. It will also be launched in Pennsylvania, Colorado, and Kentucky over the next several months subject to Betr receiving sports betting licenses in these states.

The sportsbook has been built on top of the Chameleon platform, which Betr acquired in May 2023 from Fans Unite.

Betr was founded in 2022 by Levy, with the company bringing Jake Paul on as president in the same year.
