Now that Monday’s travel day is over with, Tuesday features a full slate of MLB games to scour for player props. It has been a while since we’ve had a plus-money strikeout prop, which we will rectify.

Tuesday’s first play will be in Colorado, and we will be backing Clayton Kershaw to go over his strikeout prop of 6.5.

Best MLB Player Props – Tuesday, June 27th

Prop Odds
Clayton Kershaw Over 6.5 Strikeouts +115
Freddie Freeman to Hit a Home Run +295

Against left-handed pitching, the Rockies strikeout 26.7% of the time, which is the fourth-highest in the MLB. So, for our first pick, we will head to Denver and count on Kershaw to record 7+ strikeouts against the Rockies.

MLB Player Prop #1: Clayton Kershaw Over 6.5 Strikeouts

While Kershaw might not quite be the pitcher he was during his prime, he is still having an excellent year from a strikeout perspective. As mentioned above, his K/9 rate of 10.38 is the 11th-best in the MLB. In terms of strikeout %, he is at 28.5%, which puts him at seventh-best in the MLB. He’s no Spencer Strider, but Kershaw is still an elite strikeout pitcher.

The concern with this one is that this game is being played at Coors Field, which everybody knows as either the best, or second-best, hitters park in the MLB. And yes, admittedly this game being played on Tuesday is a positive weather correlated game for runs to be scored, but I’m still not scared off.

Not only is Kershaw still among the best at getting batters to fan, the Rockies also love to strikeout themselves. Against LHP, we’re talking fourth-most in the entire MLB at 26.7%. They are only one of six teams that strike out over 25% of the time against lefties, too.

Looking at their lineup, there are a potential seven guys who we would considered a “strikeout guy”, which means anything 25% and above. Four of those seven strike out over 30% of the time as well. Kershaw could legitimately get double-digit Ks in this one, and we only need seven. Feels like a gift for +money.

Pick: Clayton Kershaw Over 6.5 Strikeouts (+115)

MLB Player Prop #2: Freddie Freeman to Hit a Home Run

Remember how I mentioned that Coors Field is a hitters park, and that Tuesday’s game is a juicy one from a weather perspective for runs to be scored? Well, that applies to home runs, too. There should be plenty of dongs hit in this Dodgers vs. Rockies game on Tuesday, and we are backing Freeman to smack one deep for us.

While he’s only hit one home run in his past 10 games, there is reason to believe that Freeman is in a great position to break out of that slump. For starters, it is not as though he completely lost his swing. He is hitting .317 on the year, with an ISO rate of 23.2%,  a wOBA of .399, and a barrel rate of 12.8%. All those numbers are considered great, and show a hitter with a good power swing.

So, we’ve checked off the boxes of weather and the hitter, now let’s talk about the pitching matchup. Connor Seabold is pitching for the Rockies, and, to call a spade a space, he is not a good pitcher.

He’s got an ERA of 5.88, and has given up an astounding 11 home runs in 56.2 innings pitched. Looking deeper, he has a HR/9 of 1.75, and a HR/FB ratio of 13.1%. When Freeman goes yard for us, it will be legendary.

Pick: Freeman to hit a home run (+295)
