We are pumped for Thursday’s MLB betting slate, as we get 12 games of action. For our first pick, we are taking Patrick Sandoval to record fewer than six strikeouts against the White Sox.
Best MLB Player Props – Thursday, June 29th
Prop | Odds |
---|---|
Patrick Sandoval Under 5.5 Strikeouts | -122 |
Luis Robert Jr Over 1.5 Total Bases | +105 |
Sandoval is one of the worst strikeout pitchers in the MLB, and the books have his over/under prop set at 5.5. Granted, it is a little juiced towards the under at -122 odds, but that is something that we still like.
So, for our first play of the day, we are taking Patrick Sandoval to go under 5.5 strikeouts.

MLB Player Prop #1: Patrick Sandoval Under 5.5 Strikeouts
Looking at the White Sox raw stats of striking out 23.8% admittedly seems scary at first glance, but the reality is Sandoval isn’t a pitcher to be worried about when it comes to strikeouts.
He has a strikeout rate of 16.9%, which is considered “poor” by FanGraphs. His K/9 is 6.78, which, you guessed it, is also considered poor. And if you weren’t already convinced, his K/inning is 0.76, which is in the 14th percentile of all pitchers who qualify.
Despite the 23.8% strikeout rate mentioned above, looking at the White Sox projected lineup, I am only counting four players who strikeout over 25% of the time, and those include some of the White Sox best hitters such as Jake Burger and Luis Robert Jr. Those two players do strikeout a decent amount, but they also rake against lefties too, so there is almost as likely a chance they will both hit a home run as there is they strikeout.
Pick: Patrick Sandoval Under 5.5 Strikeouts (-122)
MLB Player Prop #2: Luis Robert Jr. Over 1.5 Total Bases
Because the first play had somewhat steep odds at -122, I would have felt guilty if our second pick didn’t include a plus-money banger. You remember how I mentioned that Luis Robert Jr. strikes out a decent amount, but also rakes against left-handed pitching? Well, let’s dive into that.

Granted, the plate appearances are a small sample size of 69, but his stats against lefties are silly. Overall, he has a batting average of .367, with a wRC+ of 231, ISO rate of 40%, wOBA of .501, and OPS 1.208. All of those numbers are so above the excellent threshold (again, according to FanGraphs), that I had to triple check them to make sure I wasn’t missing something.
Robert Jr. has only gone up against Sandoval three times, but guess what, he has a hit in all three tries, as he is batting 1.000 against Sandoval in his career.
Lastly, Robert Jr. has been on fire recently, and I see no reason for that to change on Thursday. He has hit this prop in four of his last five games, and has actually hit an astounding five home runs in his last five games as well. If you want to sprinkle on him to yard yet again, you can get that at +600 odds. For this pick, though, we just need two bases to cash plus-money.
Pick: Luis Robert Jr. Over 1.5 Total Bases (+105)
