A one-sided affair might well be on the cards at the Estadi Olimpic Lluis Companys as Barcelona host Royal Antwerp in the Champions League on Tuesday night.
Barca have failed to get out of the group stages in their last two Champions League campaigns but, having been handed a favourable group, the Blaugrana can make a flying start to their predicted march towards the knockout stages this term.
Barcelona vs Royal Antwerp Prediction
Team news
Barcelona boss Xavi will have to do without the duo of Ronald Araujo and Pedri but in more positive news, Ilkay Gundogan should be available despite a recent back injury.
Barca will also welcome back Fermin Lopez after completing his recent suspension.
As for Antwerp, the visitors have a lengthy injury list ahead of their trip to Catalonia this week.
Ortwin De Wolf, Davino Verhulst, Bjorn Engels, Sam Vines and Kobe Corbanie will all miss the game due to injury, so manager Mark van Bommel will have plenty to consider when it comes to selection for this one at his former club.
Barcelona to win & both teams to score – No @ 19/20
Barca looked impressive in their last outing on Saturday as they put Cadiz to the sword with a 5-0 home victory.
The Blaugrana are unbeaten at the start of the season with 13 points from their first five games in La Liga.
It’s not just banging in goals at the top end that has been impressive about Xavi’s side but also their recent defensive displays.
Barca have kept clean sheets in all of their last three La Liga outings and should be able to overcome Antwerp while keeping the visitors off the scoresheet in their Champions League opener.
Ferran Torres to score anytime @ 13/10
A bright talent who has made a positive start to the season, Ferran Torres is certainly a player worth looking out for in the anytime goalscorer market.
Torres scored Barcelona’s third goal in the 5-0 demolition of Cadiz at the weekend to make it three league goals in four appearances this season.
The 23-year-old had a tough time at his previous club Manchester City, with injuries hindering the Spaniard’s cause at the Etihad Stadium.
Now thriving at Barcelona, Torres is growing into a prominent role under Xavi and should be a real threat to the Antwerp defence on Tuesday.
Considering his recent goalscoring form, Torres at 13/10 to find the back of the net in this Champions League clash might well be the way to go here.
