Six flat races from Ayr on Sunday, between 2.30 – 5.25pm. Reasonable numbers runners-wise, and some intriguing contests for us to savour. Joe Fanning is in action, predominantly for the Johnstons, and stacks of the north’s leading lights line up.
Our challenge – to find a couple to run well for us on Sunday afternoon. Lovely ‘northern’ winner tipped up at Beverley yesterday, the Tinkler/McManoman sprinter (returned 15/2), so we’re in a bit of decent ‘nick.’ Here goes ..
Selections;
3.05 Sennockian
Here’s the theory. Mr Fanning points this Charlie Johnston charge towards the finish line, and he’s never headed. Three good, progressive runs so far, narrowly denied on two occasions.
There are several who have either run sparingly or not at all, so improvement is always a possible from such quarters, but Sennockian could well continue on an upward curve, too, and his ‘curve’ so far would in all likelihood be good enough to take this.
5.25 Spirit Of Ash
In fine form at this basement level at present, and with modest animals a massive plus is the ability to hold on to a bit of form. Some degree of consistency. That’s my angle into this contest, and I’m hoping Callum Rodriguez, who’s won on her before, can work his magic once more.
Have a brilliant afternoon’s sport, and as always, take care.
