Arm’s Length has replaced the old Dean’s Lounge in Kellett Street

Arm’s Length
7 Kellett St, Potts Point

Launching in early August and open every day, Arms Length is taking over the well-known late-night spot, Dean’s Lounge with the energetic sister duo, Rebecca O’Shea (formerly with Rockpool Dining Group) and Rosie O’Shea at the helm. The O’Shea sisters, who’ve already won over Darlinghurst with Bar Nina, are stoked to make their mark on Kings Cross. “We’ve seen how food and drink can bring people together, and we’re excited to bring that vibe to a new part of Sydney!” says Rebecca O’Shea.

In the kitchen, head chef Keno Perlas (ex Monopole, Margaret) and executive chef Jeffrey Sue (ex Rockpool, Ormeggio, China Doll) are serving up a menu with Australian and Italian influences, backed by their experience at some of Sydney’s best spots.

Arms Length is a bit of a chameleon, perfect for whatever you’re after. By day, it’s a cosy breakfast joint serving up coffees, classic café dishes, and Sydney’s best value bottomless brunch. From 8 am to 2 pm, grab a brunch main and add 90 minutes of free-flowing cocktails for just $29. You’ve gotta try their signature Garibaldi, made with Aussie aperitif Rhubi and fresh orange juice.

When the sun sets, the place shifts into a buzzing cocktail bar with local-friendly happy hour deals and tasty bar snacks to share. As the night rolls on, comfort food like steak frites and casarecce pasta hits the table. If you’re after something a bit more special, book in for a ‘Supper Soirée’ – a candlelit dinner with a cocktail on arrival, a set menu of the chef’s top picks, and wine pairings for just $95.

From 10pm, the late-night bites kick in. Arms Length is keeping the jaffle tradition alive from Dean’s Lounge, with three classic flavour combo – a smoked ham, four-cheese, or beef brisket and caramelised onion jaffle. These jaffles are set to be a crowd fave, available every night and until 2 am on Fridays and Saturdays.

As for drinks, Arms Length is all about local Aussie wines with a rotating list and seasonal cocktails curated by Nick Tesar (2022 Australian Bartender of the Year). Plus, they’re keeping things affordable with $8 house reds and whites all day and $8 and $12 cocktails during happy hour.

Located on Kellett Street, this neighbourhood gem is open 7 days a week from 8 am, closing at 10 pm Sunday to Tuesday, midnight Wednesday and Thursday, and 2 am on Friday and Saturday.
