At the time of writing the biggest Draftstars contest for this round is a $60,000 competition for the Thursday night clash between Geelong and Melbourne. Entry costs $15 and the top 25% of participants will receive a payout.
Geelong vs. Melbourne |
You can make a case for either team. On one hand, Geelong have gone 13-2 at home over the last twelve months and they have won ten of their last twelve at home against Melbourne. On the other hand, Melbourne have won six of their last eight, while Geelong have lost four of their last five. Neither team has lost a game by 40+ over the last twelve months, so I will back Any Other Result in the Tri-bets 39.5 market at 1.21 (BlueBet). This bet wins if either side wins by 1-39 points or if there is a draw.
St Kilda vs. Brisbane |
The last ten St Kilda games have oscillated between wins and losses, so based on last week’s defeat they’re due a win this round. Brisbane have won eight of their last ten, however, and they have won their last two away games against St Kilda. Brisbane have lost two away games in a row, however, and their last away defeat was against the 16th placed Hawks. Rather than bet on the head-to-head I will focus on the winning margin. Seven of St Kilda’s nine home games over the last twelve months were settled by 1-24 points, while eight of Brisbane’s eleven away games were settled by 1-39 margins. Twelve of the last fourteen meetings between St Kilda and Brisbane were settled by 1-39 margins. I will back Any Other Result in the Tri-bets 39.5 market at 1.23 (BlueBet).
Collingwood vs. Adelaide |
Collingwood suffered just their second loss of the campaign last week, but they have gone 4-0 on the back of a defeat over the last twelve months. The Magpies have gone 12-0 as the home side over the last twelve months and they have won 17 of their last 19 at the MCG. Adelaide have lost three away games in a row and they have gone 1-6 as the away underdog over the last twelve months. The Crows have lost seven on the trot against Collingwood. I would back Collingwood in the head-to-head at 1.35 (Dabble). Out of Collingwood’s 20 wins over the last twelve months, 17 were by 1-39 points, while 9 of Adelaide’s 11 defeats were by the same margin. Those looking for more risk should consider Collingwood 1-39 at 2.15 (Dabble).
