The Netherlands are 8/5 to win this contest, which gives them a theoretical chance of 38.5%. Germany are valued at the same odds to take the three points, so they too have an implied probability of 38.5%. The draw is on offer at 5/2 (28.6%).

Over 2.5 goals is available at 4/6 and both teams to score can be backed at 8/15. Germany striker Niclas Fullkrug is the favourite to score anytime in this clash at 21/10, followed by the Netherlands’ Cody Gakpo at the same odds. Both players were on the scoresheet in their last respective appearances for their countries.

Team News

Manchester United forward Joshua Zirkzee netted his first goal for the Netherlands against Bosnia last time out and he will be hoping that that will see him retain his spot up front. Wout Weghorst and Brian Brobbey will be looking to depose him, while Gakpo can also be deployed there as a false nine.

Micky van de Ven and Joey Veerman pulled out of the squad through injury, while Jurrien Timber made a return from one himself to feature against Bosnia. His brother Quinten also featured, with both players playing together for the first time in the national team.

Memphis Depay, a prolific scorer for De Oranje, was left out of the squad as he searches for a new club, but he appears to be on the cusp of joining Corinthians in Brazil. Steven Bergwijn has been left out and appears to be feuding with boss Ronald Koeman, who is displeased with the player’s switch to Saudi Arabia.

Germany are getting used to life without the likes of Ilkay Gundogan, Toni Kroos, Manuel Neuer and Thomas Muller, and so Julian Nagelsmann has elected Joshua Kimmich as his captain.

Florian Wirtz, Jamal Musiala and Kai Havertz all impressed the other night supporting Fullkrug up top against Hungary. Leroy Sane missed out on the squad through injury while Antonio Rudiger has been given time to rest.

Over 3.5 goals @ 13/8

Seeing as both these sides managed five goals each in their last respective outings, I think we could be treated to another goal-fest here, especially with the quality on offer. Both sides have many different options in attack which should make for an end-to-end game of football.

And what was more interesting is that both these teams had five different players on the scoresheets in those latest victories, which further reiterates the likelihood of this game being filled with chances.

The Netherland posted 28 shots against Bosnia but just nine on target, while Germany had 23 against Hungary but also with nine hitting the target. I don’t think there will be as many chances on offer for either of them this time given the step up in class in terms of both their opponents, but I still think over 3.5 goals is worth backing.

It has been a winning selection of the Netherlands’ last five matches in all competitions, while in two of Germany’s last six. Attacking players on both sides will head into this clash full of confidence, which should also play its part in Amsterdam.

Over 3.5 goals at 13/8 Jamal Musiala anytime goalscorer @ 13/5

He’s a player I love to watch because he is so talented, and I think Musiala can play a starring role for Die Mannschaft once again. The attacker has six goals in 36 appearances for his country and half of them were scored at the Euros.

The Bayern Munich man was majestic in Germany over the summer and he delivered some brilliant performances on top of his goals, earning him a spot in Uefa’s Team of the Tournament.

Musiala was on the scoresheet in the hammering of Hungary the other night, and so it appears as though the scoring streak at the Euros has given him the confidence to become a much bigger goal threat on the international stage.

He will be relishing the opportunity to feature against a tougher opponent on Tuesday and he certainly has the quality to penetrate this Dutch back line, even if it does feature Virgil van Dijk.
