Lucky 15 Tips: Give me strength! It’s Tom time
Well; two fabulous winners yesterday for the feature including the headline horse Persuasion (advised 11/2) and Knight Templar (advised 10/3). One didn’t run, so the £7.50 bet in the end returned £22. No fancy holidays, but a bit of fun for ‘nowt and a couple of bob back for good measure.
Saturday’s racing is top-drawer, and the ITV piece covers most of that. For our Lucky 15 tips on Saturday September 7 let’s venture to Kempton for the races NOT covered on ITV – their seven-race card kicks in at 14:00.
Lucky 15 Tips, Saturday
Kempton
14:00 – Symbol Of Strength @ 5/4
A Group 3 sprint, and on official ratings Symbol Of Strength must take the world of beating.
Tom Marquand has been booked, and it’s the best bet on the card in my opinion. Brilliant run in the G2 Gimcrack (beaten 1l) and has some fancy autumn entries.
Trainer Adrian Keatley must love the two-year-old Kodiac colt to bits.
15:45 – Fearless Freddy @ 7/4
Big class dropper from his last run, a fine effort in a well-endowed Goodwood nursery, and gets a mile now for the first time (his sire Territories was soon stepped up to a mile early in his three-year-old year). Out of a Motivator mare too, and of course he won an Epsom Derby.
This is only run number five, but Fearless Freddy has won once already and can make it two.
16:55 – Enrico Caruso @ 3/1
Anyone see the film starring Mario Lanza? That’ll just be me then.
Enrico Caruso in equine form is a four-year-old gelded son of Roaring Lion, expertly handled by the Gosdens. Four runs, two of them victories, but has risen accordingly in the handicap.
Steps up to a mile-and-a-half today from 10f, and I’m thinking that’s going to suit just fine. Kieran Shoemark is on board.
17:30 – Rakki @ 8/1
2m is the test, and I’ve selected an admirable double threat, dual-purpose trainer in Alan King.
Equally at home be it Cheltenham or York, he saddles Rakki at what I think is a value price, with Ed Greatrex doing the pushing. He’s beautifully bred by Sea The Stars out of a Mark Of Esteem mare and recorded a career-high at Sandown last time, narrowly missing out.
Up 3lb for that but going the right way and looks nicely weighted.
If you’re playing take care, have fun as always, and good luck.
This is an example of a Lucky 15. If you can improve upon my selections (of course you can), then go for it!
The odds can fluctuate between publishing our pieces and race-time. As a guide, a £0.50p win Lucky 15 on today’s selections, at the prices, and assuming all four won, would return around £300 for your total £7.50 stake.
