Sparta Praha vs FCSB Prediction: Hosts can keep a clean sheet
Sparta Praha and FCSB collide at epet ARENA for the first leg of their Champions League third round qualifier tie on Tuesday (19:00), with the hosts looking to make amends for last year’s exit at this stage of the competition at the hands of Copenhagen.
Both teams’ domestic campaigns are underway, which should help this contest deliver excitement. Read on for my Sparta Praha vs FCSB prediction, accompanied by match odds and team news.

Both teams to score is available at 10/11 and over 2.5 goals is on offer at 4/5.
Team News
Sparta Praha boss Lars Friis made several changes to the side that defeated Shamrock Rovers in the last round for their victory in the league against Dukla Prague on Frday, but he is expected to field a similar side to the one that defeated the League of Ireland Premier Division side.
With this in mind, Martin Vitik and Asger Sorensen could retain their places in defence, while Tomas Wiesner, Lukas Sadilek, Qazim Laci and Imanol Garcia de Albeniz could all return to the starting lineup for this crunch clash.
Wide man Roman Mokrovics and defender Filip Panak have not featured in the last few weeks and as such are doubts to partake in Tuesday’s affair.
FCSB will be without full-back Alexandru Pantea, who has been out of action since February, while winger Octavian Popescu, who has not made an appearance since May, is a doubt to feature.
Sparta Praha to win to nil @ 7/5
FCSB needed a late winner against Maccabi Tel Aviv to progress to this stage of the Champions League qualifying, and they will need to be much better if they are going to get past Sparta Praha over two legs.
The hosts showed their might against Shamrock Rovers over two legs, winning 6-2 on aggregate. The home leg saw them win 4-2, and if they are in the same vein of form here, they could be heading to Romania next week with a sizeable advantage.
They are yet to taste defeat this season, too, across all competitions. They are full of confidence right now. All their matches have been wins, and they sit atop of the Czech First League as the only team with a 100 per cent win record after just three games.
FCSB are going to be in for a tough evening here I fear, and they will count themselves lucky if they can head back to Romania with anything less than a two-goal deficit. I’m backing Sparta Praha to win to nil on Tuesday night.
Veljko Birmancevic anytime goalscorer @ 9/5
It feels like it’s been a while since I’ve made a goalscorer selection, so I thought it only right to go for one here. In this instance, I have gone for Sparta’s Veljko Birmancevic to find the back of the net on Tuesday.
The attacking midfielder has already opened his accounts for the season in both the league and the Champions League, so I expect he will have a great impact in the final third at the epet ARENA. Last term, he netted 16 times in the league, four times in the Europa League and once in Champions League qualifying.
He is no stranger to finding the back of the net on the European stage, so I believe he is worth backing to score here.
