Halifax, Leeds and Kensington to cut prices tomorrow

Halifax is cutting rates tomorrow by up to 22 basis points, while Leeds Building Society and Kensington are making smaller reductions.

They join a wave of other lenders that have announced they are dropping prices tomorrow, including NatWest, TSB, Accord, Clydesdale and Bank of Ireland.

At Halifax the following rates are being cut:

  • Selected remortgage rates will drop by up to 22bps
  • Product transfer and further advance rates will go down by up to 17bps
  • Home mover and first-time buyer rates will fall by up to 15bps

Leeds Building Society already cut some buy-to-let deals by up to 25bps on Wednesday.

Tomorrow the lender is trimming the following residential mortgage rates:

  • Selected two, three and five-year rates for existing customers reduced by up to 13bps
  • For new customers, selected two-year rates cut by up to 11bps

Kensington Mortgages has also announced reductions tomorrow by up to 15bps on some rates, as well as some new launches.
