eBay Finds #92

Vintage Hamilton Octagonal Men’s Watch

We have a neat one to start off this week, a vintage circa 1970’s Hamilton octagonal gold plated presentation watch with the Exxon logo on the dial. I love these company branded dials, they really provide a unique look. The gold plated case looks new, and has an octagonal shape with both polished and brushed finishes, with a steel snap-on caseback. The white dial is clean as a whistle, with simple stick markers and hands, a day/date window at 3 o’clock, and of course the Exxon logo above the 6. It comes on a stretch bracelet that also has brushed and polished finishes and compliments the watch perfectly. Best of all this gem comes with inner and outer boxes and the original hang tag!

Vintage Lord Elgin

Here’s a sweet vintage Lord Elgin dress watch from 1953. The 24k gold filled case measures 25mm wide, and has fancy bowtie hooded lugs. The case is in nice shape, with no wearthrough on the lugs, but I do see some brassing on the crown side of the case. The white dial is absolutely immaculate, with applied gold markers that are alternating Arabic numerals and little stars. Great piece that would look sharp at your next cocktail party! The watch even comes on an Elgin signed leather strap. Seller states the manual wind caliber 670 movement was recently cleaned and oiled and keeps decent time.

Vintage 1953 Bulova

What’s better than a great vintage dress watch from 1953? Two! Here’s another killer 1950’s piece, this time it’s a Bulova with a fancy engraved bezel. The 25mm yellow gold fill case is superb, with little to no wear. The deeply engraved bezel is super cool and really stands out. The silver dial is clean with a little patina, and nice Art Deco applied gold Arabic numerals. The watch comes on what could be (and probably is) the original stretch bracelet that complements the look of the watch perfectly. The Bulova caliber 10BT manual wind movement is clean, and the winding crown is even signed “Bulova”!

Vintage Stainless Steel Bulova

Here’s another Bulova from the mid-late 1950’s, but very different from the one above. This one is more sporty, with a 30mm round steel case that has a wild scalloped bezel. The case isn’t perfect, but it’s not beat up either, and the curved lugs are awesome. To match the cool bezel, the dial has a deep radial grooved finish that is really amazing. The dial is marked “Bulova, 23 Jewels, Selfwinding, Six Adjustments”. The standard Bulova 23 jewel automatic movement is a great one as it is, but these that are adjusted to six positions are really special. It’s about as close to Chronometer standards as you’ll get in a non-certified movement. To top it off, this one has the correct and original Bulova signed crown. A great looking piece with a marvelous movement.

Vintage 1969 Men’s Omega Gold Capped Constellation

Next up we have some good old bling, with a vintage 1969 Omega Constellation. The 35mm yellow gold cap case is in nice shape, but not perfect. The gold linen textured dial is superb though, and looks 100% original to me. Simple stick markers and stick hands, with a day/date window at 3 o’clock. The crystal is original, with a date window magnifier, and the seller states it is signed with the tiny Omega symbol as it should be, and same with the crown. It has a nice coin edge bezel in great shape. The watch comes on its original gold cap brick bracelet, which does exhibit wear. There is a nicely done personal engraving around the Observatory medallion on the back. As an added bonus, this one comes with the original inner and outer boxes.

Vintage Hamilton LED

And you thought there wasn’t going to be an LED watch this week! You’re in luck because I found this great vintage Hamilton LED with a super sleek streamlined steel case and integrated chiclet bracelet. Really sharp, clean example that is unpolished and has nice crisp edges and a brushed finish. The red LED window is clean, and the watch works as can be seen in the pictures. This one is really good looking and looks to have survived the decades in someone’s desk drawer.
