How to watch the Premier League for free on Amazon Prime

  • By Admin

Sky and TNT Sports won up most of the broadcast rights for the 2023/24 Premier League but Amazon was still able to snap up 20 matches. There’ll be 10 between December 5–7, and 10 more from Boxing Day until December 28. Sound good? Below, we’ll explain how you can live stream all 20 of Amazon’s Premier League fixtures from anywhere (even outside of the UK).

We strongly encourage football fans to stick to official broadcasters. These not only provide the highest-quality video, they’re also much more reliable. Unlike shady streams, an official broadcast will never be taken down for copyright violation. You don’t have to spend forever finding a link that works, either, so it’s actually easier to do things legitimately.

Now, these Premier League games will only be shown on Prime Video UK. In other words, anyone traveling abroad this Christmas will have to rely on a Virtual Private Network (VPN).

How to watch the Premier League on Amazon Prime from abroad

VPNs are designed to enhance your online privacy by sending your web traffic through an encrypted server somewhere else in the world. However, if you choose a server in your home country, you’ll be able to regain access to your usual streaming services while traveling.

Here’s how to watch the Premier League on Amazon Prime from abroad:

  1. Begin by choosing a reputable VPN that works with Amazon Prime Video UK. We’ve had great results with NordVPN but Surfshark and ExpressVPN are strong choices too.
  2. Install the VPN app onto whichever device you use for streaming. The providers above all have apps for Windows, Mac, Android, Linux, iOS, and Amazon Fire Stick.
  3. Connect to a server in the UK. In our experience, those in larger cities like London or Manchester tend to work the most reliably for streaming.
  4. Try logging into Amazon and watching something. If you notice a box at the top that says “Traveling?”, clear your browser’s cookies and cache, then reload the page.

Amazon lets subscribers watch some titles while traveling outside of the UK, but this doesn’t include live events like Premier League fixtures.

  5. Still having problems? Try connecting to a different British server and repeat these steps. Alternatively, contact your VPN’s support team and ask for one-on-one assistance.

As we mentioned above, Amazon Prime Video will be showing 20 Premier League matches this festive season. That might not sound like a lot, but there are hotly-anticipated games like Man Utd vs Chelsea and Arsenal vs West Ham in there, so it’d be a mistake to write this service off. Plus, Amazon has one cool feature that most of its rivals don’t. If you’d rather not hear the commentators, you can switch the audio track and listen to the sounds of the stadium instead.

Prime Video usually costs £8.99 GBP per month or £95 per year, but it also offers a one-month free trial. In other words, you can sign up, watch all of December’s fixtures, and cancel before you’re charged. Matches will be broadcast live, with replays coming the day after. These will only stick around for seven days, though, so catch up while you can.

Unfortunately, after December, you’ll have to watch elsewhere. Sky Sports will be showing 215 matches online via the Sky Go app (for existing Sky TV subscribers) and NOW (£11.99 daily, £34.99 per month). TNT Sports (£29.99 monthly), meanwhile, will broadcast 52 matches, with weekly highlights airing on BBC iPlayer.

Remember: these streaming platforms aren’t available outside of the UK. NordVPN comes with a 30-day money-back guarantee, giving you the chance to try it risk-free. If it doesn’t work for you, or you just don’t need it after December, just cancel for a full refund.
