Oregon is a Huge Favorite Over Washington for the Pac-12 Title

After an incredible end to the regular season, it’s officially time for some epic conference championship games on the way. There are trips to the College Football Playoff on the line later this week, there’s no doubt about that. In the Pac-12 title game, the Huskies and Ducks are ready to face off in what should be a memorable game over in Las Vegas. With that said, Oregon is a huge favorite over Washington for the Pac-12 title. Who will come out on top?

Last week was a different story for the two teams, though they both recorded wins. With Oregon, they faced Oregon State in the 2023 Civil War. The Ducks handled the Beavers with ease, coming away with a dominant victory. Right before kickoff for that game, it was reported that OSU coach Johnathan Smith was the leading candidate to take over things at Michigan State – that no question had a negative impact on the team.

UW vs. Oregon odds Bovada BetOnline Review BetUS Review
Oregon to win -365 -365 -365
UW to win +235 +235 +235
Over 49.5 points -110 -110 -110
Under 49.5 points -110 -110 -110

With Washington, they were expected to dominate Washington State, but they were able to escape with a 24-21 win. There was plenty of controversy late, as it looks like the officials missed a clear hold on the Washington offensive line on a 4th-down run by Rome Odunze. Washington won on a walk-off field goal, capturing the Apple Cup. Now, UW will hope to clean things up on both sides of the ball against Oregon.

According to the best-rated sportsbooks, which includes the reliable Bovada review, the Ducks hold -365 NCAAF betting odds, while the Huskies have been set at +235. Despite UW being ranked No. 3 in the AP Top 25, it seems like the experts are convinced that Oregon will be able to cruise to a win and then punch its ticket to the College Football Playoff. We agree, as we’re going with Oregon as our pick.

The over should hit between the Ducks and Huskies

It goes without saying, but the over should hit between the Ducks and Huskies. These are two of the best offenses in the college ranks, with Michael Penix Jr. and Bo Nix being potential first-round picks in next season’s NFL Draft. Whenever Penix has the ball in his hands, he’s a threat to make an opposing defense pay. Things weren’t quite as steady for him against the Cougars, as WSU was able to keep him in check.

However, good players find ways to help their team record close victories and that’s exactly what Penix was able to do against Wazzu. Now, head coach Kalen DeBoer will hope that his signal-caller will be ready to throw the ball all over the field against Oregon. Keep in mind that these two teams met earlier in the year, with Penix and the Huskies posting an unreal win. Will history repeat itself this weekend?

Rivalry games are special,” DeBoer said after the win over WSU. “Hat’s off to WSU and Coach Dickert for making it tough. But proud of our guys. To go 12-0, a perfect season, I could talk a lot about how hard that is, but there’s still a lot to accomplish. Don’t even have a 24-hour rule this week because it’s a short week, but have to appreciate what 12-0 is, what it took to get here and where it stands in Husky history. It’s never going to be perfect and every game is going to be its own game.”

With Oregon, Nix has been incredible late in the season and there’s no doubt that he’s going to have revenge on his mind after losing to Washington earlier in the year. With all of that said, we’re expecting a ton of points to be scored in this one. The over/under has been set at 49.5 points, with -110 NCAAF betting odds for both. Look for Oregon and UW to score at least 50 combined here. We’re going with the over.

A trip to the CFP is on the line for these two teams

With the way things are set up right now, a trip to the CFP is on the line for these two teams. Oregon already has a loss on the season, losing to UW in a close one. The Huskies are 12-0 on the year, posting a perfect regular season. However, if they suffer a loss to Oregon in the Pac-12 title game, we have a feeling the committee will leave them out of the Top 4.

If Oregon wins, we think they’ll be able to sneak into the Top 4. With a loss, though, they’re 100 percent going to be out. That’s what makes the Pac-12 Championship Game all the more intriguing for people to enjoy. There’s so much on the line, as both UW and Oregon are dreaming of staying in the hunt to win it all.

There’s going to be extra pressure on the two programs to live up to the hype and play well on both sides of the ball. UW previously has played in the CFP, as has Oregon. These two rivals don’t like one another and they’d love nothing more than to ruin the party for their opponent. We’ll find out soon who is able to move on.
