Lingfield Tips: In-form Williams to strike with Bucksy Des Epeires

Jumps action takes place at Lingfield Park on Tuesday afternoon with a seven-race offering at the popular Surrey venue.

They get going at midday, while the final race is scheduled for 15.28 on what promises to be a competitive card.

We’ve picked out three to follow at Lingfield, including French import Bucksy Des Epeires for a bang in-form Venetia Williams stable on his UK bow.

Lingfield Tips

  • 12:00 Lingfield – Bucksy Des Epeires @ 4/1
  • 13:10 Lingfield – Sao Carlos @ 11/10
  • 14:20 Lingfield – Operation Manna @ 4/11

12:00 Lingfield – Bucksy Des Epeires @ 4/1

The action begins with a maiden hurdle over 2m3½f and it looks like a good contest. Gary Moore’s All Authorized is already a hurdles winner at Fontwell in the spring though he was defeated at Ascot earlier this month and may need to improve here to score.

Dan and Harry Skelton will be hoping £100,000 purchase Illico De Cotte can make a good first impression but preference is for Venetia Williams’ French import BUCKSY DES EPEIRES on his UK bow.

He’s got some form in the book after placing second in juvenile events at Dieppe and Lyon Parilly in 2022. Those runs came on soft ground and he is in good hands coming back from a break having left Sourdeau Beauregard.

The Williams team have a magnificent strike-rate of 38 per-cent (10-26) across the last fortnight and Charlie Deutsch could be on board another one here.

13:10 Lingfield – Sao Carlos @ 11/10

Olly Murphy’s SAO CARLOS carries familiar John Hales colours that have been associated with some good jumpers down the years and he can prove an exciting recruit for his owners.

He was well backed for a bumper at Market Rasen on Boxing Day last year and made his own running under Sean Bowen before running strongly through the line to win.

He hasn’t been sighted since and now goes hurdling off a 330-day break but he should be ready to do himself justice and he gets the nod ahead of Colours On Canvas, fourth in a Naas maiden hurdle on his only start for Sam Curling in March and now in the care of Suzi Best.

14:20 Lingfield – Operation Manna @ 4/11

Tom Lacey’s recent Sandown scorer OPERATION MANNA should have few problems following up here in the hands of 7lb claimer Cameron Illes.

The seven-year-old was winning for the third time in seven starts over hurdles when he obliged over 2m4f (soft) earlier this month.

After being held up early, he moved nicely into contention under Illes and came clear to win by a wide margin at the line.

With that score having come in a Conditional Jockeys’ contest, they go unpunished for the win and are in receipt of weight from three rivals here. A repeat effort nine days on makes them hard to oppose.
