Hello, and welcome to our live blog of the opening night of the 2023 AFL draft.
Tonight will see all first round selections made, as somewhere around 28 players find AFL homes and launch professional footy careers. The remainder of the draft will be held tomorrow night (and you better believe the blog will back for that), but for now the attention is firmly on the very cream of this crop.
This draft has more unknowns and mystery around than any in recent years, with plenty still up in the air in the top 10 and a very even group coming after that. It’s impossible to predict what will happen tonight, but I’ll be here with you for all the rumours, all the trades, all the shocks and all the analysis.
So stick around, and feel free to get your thoughts, questions and wishlists in before the draft gets underway.
