DUNDEE UNITED lost to Partick Thistle in the Viaplay Cup and it seemed the Tannadice club were already in more turmoil at the start of the season.
But since then, they’ve been a consistent unit and can gain revenge and maintain their Championship title charge by winning at Firhill at 11/8.
Jim Goodwin had a nightmare season to end all nightmare seasons last term after his sacking from Aberdeen following the Scottish Cup disaster at Darvel which was squeezed into between losing 11 goals at Hearts and Hibs.
He then took Dundee United down and lost his opening game of this season at Spartans followed by that Thistle loss.
But since then, United have won nine and drawn three of the 12 games they’ve played. They’ve won away at Ayr, Arbroath and Inverness without conceding and draw at title rivals Raith Rovers.
Thistle being Thistle are their unusual unpredictable selves losing 3-0 at home to Arbroath one week and beating Dunfermline 3-0 the next.
But with the likes of Louis Moult, Tony Watt and Glenn Middleton in the squad, they should have too much for the Jags at a decent price.
PETERHEAD lost 2-0 to Dundee United last week in the Challenge Cup, but that could be forgiven after four wins in a row in League Two.
And they look a fantastic price at 2/1 to win at Stenhousemuir on Saturday.
The Blue Toon won at title challengers Dumbarton and Forfat Athletic and beat Elgin City and Bonnyrigg Rose at home.
They are going great guns after last season’s relegation and are a surprisingly big price to win at Ochilview.
Stenny won three games in a row in the league too but were held to a draw by Clyde at home before international break.
But they lost at home to Dumbarton by conceding four goals before that and Peterhead look overpriced, with veteran hitman Rory McAllister needing one goal to reach the 200 milestone for Peterhead.
ST MIRREN are another side that look too big at 17/10 to win at Ross County.
The Buddies lost their unbeaten league record to Rangers in their last game but were severely hampered by being reduced to ten men when Ryan Strain gave away a first half penalty.
The Staggies have been struggling recently after home and away defeats to Aberdeen and a loss to Hearts at home.
St Mirren are good travellers on the road and may have too much for Malky Mackay’s men.
RECOMMENDATIONS:
- DUNDEE UNITED 11/8
- PETERHEAD 2/1
- ST MIRREN 17/10.
