  • By Admin

From intriguing international fixtures like Albania vs. Czech Republic and Japan vs. Canada to high-scoring League Two showdowns involving Crewe, Tranmere, Wrexham, and Salford, we’ve got you covered. With a potential return of 4.38/1 at Sporting Index, you won’t want to miss out on these high-stake opportunities to cash in.

Albania v Czech Republic

Thursday, 7:45pm

The international break is back! Whilst that will disappoint some, for myself it presents another round of betting opportunities for us. There is plenty at stake across these next two rounds of matches for nations to try and book their spots at the next European Championships. Albania and Czech Republic are two of those nations that holds strong aspirations of playing next summer in Germany.

Group E sees Albania as something of a surprise league at the top of the table, holding a two-point advantage over Czech Republic, but Thursday’s visitors do have one-game in-hand. This group contains an under-performing Poland, who have lost three of their five clashes to date, so both of these nations know the importance of three points here. Certainly in the case of Albania, who would make one huge step towards qualification here, whilst Czech Republic, who are unbeaten so far, will aim to resume winning ways having drew with Albania at home last month despite dominating.

Since the start of the year, Albania have been under the management of former Arsenal, Barcelona and Brazil full back Sylvinho, and has made a good impression during that period. Albania have only ever once made the Euros finals, back in 2016, and given they’re never reached a World Cup finals either, they’ll be eager to make the most of this opportunity. They’ve won both home games under Sylvinho, both without conceding, including a 2-0 success over Poland, so they’ll fancy their chances of topping Czech Republic.

As for Czech Republic, they’re a team we are more than used to seeing at the major finals of international football. As a sole footballing nation, they’ve made the quarter-finals or better on four occasions at the Euros, including when runners-up at Euro 96. They are enjoying a six-match unbeaten streak, and a four-game unbeaten run away from home is their best run of their travels for some time, so they won’t travel in fear of Albania, especially having outplayed them last month, albeit at home and when drawing.

The first leg of our acca, starting on Thursday, focusing on this match featuring Over 1.5 Goals, and a strong case is made for that being the case. There is no use in this being cagey, and with Albania playing a friendly in a few days’ time, they can focus all of their efforts into this competitive fixture. This selection has paid off in 13 of Albania’s last 18 games, and 14 of Czech Republic’s last 15 fixtures.

Japan v Canada

Friday, 11:35am

An intriguing international friendly catches the eye on Friday morning to hopefully keep out acca running when Japan welcomes Canada to Niigata. Japan have been playing a series of friendly games to keep them ticking over until they participate in competitive action again starting next month, whilst Canada are playing their first match since the Gold Cup in July, and this will be their only match in this international swing.

Japan are enjoying a four-game winning run, and whilst we can saw those have been in friendly games, when defeating the likes of Germany, Turkey and Peru within that run, then we have to take notice. They’ve scored a whopping 18 goals within this mini-series of those, and we too have to acknowledge that. Another strong squad has been called-up for this game, along with the upcoming friendly with Tunisia, and recent performances suggests motivation remains high enough to perform, despite these officially being uncompetitive matches.

Canada, as mentioned, will only play once across this international period and a strong group of players has been recruited by interim boss Mauro Biello. Something of an experimental squad was utilised in the Gold Cup, so really this is the first time the core of the Canadian national team has played together since a CONCACAF Nations League loss to USA in June. They’ll be eager to perform, especially knowing no second fixture will come after this, whilst the fact there is no permanent coach in charge means they will have an on-looking potential new coach to impress. This is a friendly in everything but name.

This time last year, the two nations also met up for a friendly game in Dubai, with Canada emerging as 2-1 winners in what was a warm-up clash ahead of the World Cup. The last time a Japan match did not include at least two goals was during the World Cup was losing 1-0 to Costa Rica, a game they dominated and did everything but score. Also, since the start of the World Cup, only two of Canada’s 11 matches did not reach two goals. Once more, the second leg of our acca depends on this game featuring Over 1.5 Goals.

Crewe v Tranmere

Saturday, 3pm

After two international games on Thursday and Friday respectively, hopefully we came through that unscathed to take our acca running into two EFL clashes on Saturday, both of which are in the entertaining League Two, which has seen an average of just over 3.00 goals per game this season. The first match we’re focusing on first is Crewe against Tranmere, and the theme of goals is expected to continue once more at least.

Crewe have enjoyed a very productive start to the season, sitting inside the play-offs after 12 games and suffering just the two defeats in the process. One of those setbacks came last time out when falling on the wrong side of six-goal thriller away to Salford City, but they’ll expect to bounce back at home to a struggling Tranmere that is sitting just outside the relegation places.

Saturday’s hosts possess only one of six remaining unbeaten home records in League Two, and they’ve netted at least two goals in all of those encounters, proving one reason why their games often contains goals. Top scorer Christopher Long has also been a good reason why, but even despite missing their last league match through injury, Crewe still managed to score a couple of games. Crewe league games are averaging over 4.00 goals, and we can’t ignore this stat.

Tranmere recently underwent a managerial change when Ian Dawes was dismissed last month following a six-game losing run. The vastly experienced Nigel Adkins, who had been serving a technical director, has since stepped into the role on a caretaker basis. A couple of recent league victories suggests they are beginning to turn the corner, but goals continue to flow in their games, which hasn’t changed following the different face in the dugout. A big reason for this in Tranmere often selecting very offensive-heavy starting XI’s, and they can lack balance between defence and attack. Ten of their 12 league assignments this season has included at least two goals, with eight involving a minimum of three.

Over 2.5 Goals simply has to be the play here.

Wrexham v Salford

Saturday, 3pm

It is the battle of the big-name owners at the Racecourse Ground this weekend when Wrexham, pre-season title favourites, welcomes Salford, a side that reached the play-offs last season. League Two remains quite tight compact in the points scale across the league 12 games in, and so only four points separates these two outfits, with both enjoying rather flip-floppy starts to the campaign.

A four-game winning streak for Wrexham last month was followed by three without success, but edging surprise package Crawley 1-0 away from home last weekend was a big reason for Phil Parkinson’s side and once which could easily kick-start another positive run. Salford have now recorded three league victories in succession, ending their six-match losing streak in all competitions. Only one draw for them this season highlights their state of mind in terms of approach, and they’ll again head to Wales looking to win on the road, with MK Dons on the opening day being the only team to exit the Racecourse with three points.

Wrexham have looked to sharpen up defensively in recent times after shipping goals for fun in the opening period of games. MK Dons, Walsall, Swindon, Stockport and Crewe have all netted at least two goals against Wrexham so far, and even Ryan Reynolds himself might have improved their defensive record! As mentioned, they’ve sharpened up in that regard, keeping recent clean sheets against Grimsby, Mansfield and Crawley. That Grimsby match remains their only home league clean sheet this season however, and another basketball type encounter is expected on Saturday, with both teams looking to win.

Salford games aren’t always common for BTTS, but Wrexham rarely do home clean sheets, and even shipped quite a few here in the National League last season, but they’ll come looking to win given they’re in top form of late. This is certainly the most risky element of our acca, but Both Teams to Score looks a worthy play.
