Cincinnati Bengals WR Ja’Marr Chase says their 34-20 win over Arizona was ‘a step closer’ towards what they’re capable of.
Cincinnati entered the game ranked last in yards and 31st in points scored in the NFL. Quarterback Joe Burrow had been playing half injured, and his output reflected that.
The Bengals offense needed a boost, and Ja’Marr Chase provided it by setting a franchise record. His 15 catches were for 192 yards and three touchdowns.

Only four other players since 1950 have had over 15 receptions and three receiving touchdowns in a game. Ja’Marr Chase joins Hall of Famers Steve Largent and Jerry Rice in holding that accolade.
“We’ve taken a step closer to who we really are,” Chase said.
“We keep facing adversity this year. It’s not going to be an easy season and right now we just keep taking it step by step into next week.
“It shows us who we really are,” he added.
“We already knew what we were capable of from the jump. We’ve definitely faced adversity from the jump, and right now we’re just getting that wagon going again and moving forward.”

Joe Burrow appears back to form with his first game this season with 300-plus passing yards, 3 touchdowns or a 100-plus passer rating. He says this victory can have a similar galvanizing effect, such as their Week 6 win over the Saints in 2022, which sparked a 10-1 run.
“This kind of feels like last year in New Orleans a little bit,” the QB said.
“It means nothing, like I said earlier, it means nothing if you don’t go out there and build on it. We’re going to celebrate tonight, but get back out there and work tomorrow.”
